I've been reading a lot about bad battery life with the gtab's, is this just part of life when owning one?
Here are some shots I took. There's nothing I can see that would cause any of this. Mine does have 3g, which I am not paying for or using. I just have the network disabled within the tab's settings.

As you can tell, it was below 3% all night, so it was idling properly, but the battery still drained like I was using it.

Something is not right. I use GreenPower to manage my power consumption really well. I go at least a couple of days between charges and rarely go down below 50%. Take a look at what apps are using the most power. Try putting the Tab in Airplane mode overnight and see if that makes a difference.

I just fully charged it again and put it in airplane mode. Im going to let it sit unused and check it in the morning.

Nothing that is showing it using any cpu power. The highest is the system process "suspend"... but even that is low 1% usage. So it seems to be idling like it should. DO batteries go bad? The unit is a little over a year old. I got it used from someone else, so I have no idea about their charging habits.

well, I've got good news, I just dont know a way around it or what causes the bad news.

I put it on airplane mode, and the power drain started ti level out a little. Then around noon today I took out the sd card to use it, and the drain prety much stopped. I wasnt trying to stop the power loss, I just happen to need the microsc card. Why does having the card in affect it so much?

From 12am to 12pm, the level it drains at is better than it was before. Check a little after 12pm, the power drain completely leveled off when I took the sd card out.

The Galaxy Tab 10.1 doesn't have an SD card slot. Either you got your hands on the Galaxy Tab 2 already, or you mean you had the SD reader plugged in all the time. If the latter is true it's no wonder your battery was being drained quickly.

Yes agreed - the 10.1 doesn't have an SD card slot. Are you posting to the right thread?

I am running an ICS ROM and seeing really bad battery drain whenever I use the tab (seems OK when it is idle).

Is anyone else having the same issue??

Do you have one of the latest versions of Green Power? I went to get the app and there were many complaints. They said the app worked really well until the last two updates. Now it drains the batteries instead of helping them.

I do have the latest version, and have not noticed any unusual overnight battery drain. Mine is set for "night mode" from midnight to 5am.

It has been on 12 hours so far today (currently 5:15pm here) and at 82%. Mainly used for email and calendar today. I will check it overnight for the next couple of nights and report back--last night used about 7% between 12am and 7am with GreenPower enabled.

are you using the FREE version or paid version? I'm thinking I need to get a power saver app for mine. I went to bed at 10:30pm at 87%, and woke up at 5:30am and it was at 48%. Checked to see what apps where using the battery and it said the OS.

I am having the exact same problem. I running the CM9 ICS rom and I've spent a good week updating the nightly roms (hoping this fixes it, no success) and playing with the settings. I can say when my tab had the factory Honycomb, I never had battery drain. I recently left in standby for a week and it lost 10% battery tops. Plus those settings were much more liberal than they are now with ICS and the battery life is just piss poor.

I've shut off all connectivity right now including wifi to see if that helps (which was on standby so it shouldn't matter but we'll see). Until now I've been losing 15-20% in about 8 hours on standby.

I have the wifi-only tab yet the system battery indicator says 24% of the drain is from Cell standby, even though it's turned off.
