Nandroid exits with a status 35 error every time I attempt a simple backup. I can complete an advanced backup unless I try to back up boot data along with the other fields. I have unrooted the phone and then rerooted, but the problem persists. No symptoms otherwise. Help! Any suggestions?

A lot of Nandroid errors are caused by it not liking the name you've given to the folder. What is the name of the folder you keep the Nandroid files in for this backup?

The successful backup files are stored in /sdcard/nandroid. The advanced nandroid file last saved was /sdcard/nandroid/cdmrs-20100309-2359. I did not enter any name prefixes and let the program set up the file structure after I took the droid back to stock and rerooted the phone. What really bothers me is that the simple nandroid option fails, despite the fact that the name and content choices are automated. Also, I reformated the sd card, to eliminate the possibility of a problem there. Any idea why just the boot backup option would be causing problems? Status 35 errors seem to be pretty rare. Thanks for your help!

Nandroid Error Codes - Droid Forum - Verizon Droid & the Motorola Droid Forum

Nandroid error codes with known issue

14 - Seems to happen when applying a .rom.tgz format. There is too many extensions at the end (I.e. .rom.tgz.tgz, needs to be .rom.tgz) Also could be caused by exracting a .rom.tgz . These files need to be left as a .rom.tgz file.

21 - The file name of the folder has a space in it. ( I.e. nandroid/sample rom, needs to be nandroid/samplerom)

25 - The rom is in too many subfolders. ( I.e. nandroid/samplerom/samplerom, it needs to be nandroid/samplerom

28 - The rom is corrupt somehow, simple redownload or pick another mirror site.

34 - This is when doing a backup and there isn't enough space on the sdcard. Delete some files to make room and start again.

35 - The name for the backup is too many characters. Simply rename.

I understand that a name problem is part of the issue. Does anyone know how I can change the default file name that SPRecovery chooses for a simple Nandroid backup? Less importantly, why would unchecking the "backup boot" option allow for the successful completion of an advanced nandroid?

Sorry, I try many google searches before posting on a problem. This one has me stumped. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.:)

I just copied and pasted when I looked at the Nandroid messages...sorry. The name being too long doesn't seem like the issue cause mine are much bigger. I choose to "set backup name" and i usually enter something like BB_v0.5_3-11-10 (rom name_version_date) and then the recovery add something like 20100309-2359 to the end of what I named it. So like I said, doesn't seem that your name is too long.

What version of Recovery do you have?

You should have at least version 'SirPsychoS Recov. 0.99.2b'

Also, just fyi, I NEVER do a simple backup. I know that it didn't work for me in the older versions of Recovery. Use the advanced backup and restore...and set your own names for your backup...makes life easier and you can remember what backup is what.

Same here. I learned this the hard way when I had like 6 of them and wanted to go to a specific one. I had to flash 5 of the 6 to find the right one
