Got the sprint galaxy nexus and im loving it.

Granted I've only had it for 2 days but this phone is awesome. I'm coming from the evo 3d and his is a completely different beast. I love ice cream sandwich and I must say that the nexus as a music player is 10 times better than the evo 3d. I had some weird hissing noise only evo but on the nexus the sound is mice and crisp. So far so good with this phone. I will posf y thoughts a few weeks in.

Just got the Nexus as well, coming from the original HTC Evo 4G. Definitely an amazing phone, still messing around and getting it to how I like.

Congrats new Nexus owners! I am hearing word that there is some Sprint LTE towers live atm in Waco, TX? I was wondering if anyone is getting a 4G signal? If you can, please post some screens of speedtests. I know these will only be test towers and only get better as Sprint builds out. Thx in advance.

My experience has been a nightmare. I got mine got it home and the camera just refused to work no matter how many resets and whatever I did. I returned it for another one, and the battery life is abysmal. I close all running/recent applications and just do light texting/browsing and it drains hard on either 3g or WiFi. I don't even want to imagine what LTE will be like.

The phone is gorgeous and insanely quick. It feels like what Android should have been all along. It's just a shame the battery is so bad, perhaps it will get better with time, but I am definitely regretting the purchase right as of this moment.

Welcome Chris. One of the biggest tips for the camera is to focus on the photo by touching the screen before taking a shot. The camera is FAST, but if you're not careful, it'll take horrible photos.
As for battery life, it's not the best but it's not too bad. What phone are you coming from? Also there's plenty of extended batteries out there, most don't increase the size too much.

There's been reported problems with this phone. The data connection isn't working which hopefully will be fixed soon.. I have the galaxy note which works great, but but the nexus was my first choice. I hope all your problems will be addressed soon.

Welcome Chris. One of the biggest tips for the camera is to focus on the photo by touching the screen before taking a shot. The camera is FAST, but if you're not careful, it'll take horrible photos.
As for battery life, it's not the best but it's not too bad. What phone are you coming from? Also there's plenty of extended batteries out there, most don't increase the size too much.

Thanks for the tip but I meant that the app wouldnt even open, would just close automatically no matter what I did. Installed tiny LED flash and that wouldnt even recognize the camera, the hardware was toast, got a new one and camera works fine. Ive used just about every phone all of the gen 1 windows 7 phones, high end/low end mid range android, iphone 3g, 3gs, 4,4s, blackberry curve 8530/9360 bold 9700/bold 9990...I have a problem with phones lol I switch alot. Previous phone was a iphone 4 on straight talk.

The extended batteries are nice, just can't use a case then and I don't want to risk cracking the device. I just installed JuiceDefender today(I haven't tried it since sour results on a Droid X long time ago) so well see how that goes. Like I said, the phone is a monster and its sexy but the battery and poor signal strength really make me wish I just got the 4S and be done with it. If Juice Defender helps and somehow they can improve the signal like with the Nexus S 4g after launch this walks all over the iPhone IMO the hardware(minus the lemon camera I had) is just fantastic.

Wife and I pre-ordered our Gnex's from Sprint and got them two weeks ago. We just got back from Vacation in the Black Hills, South Dakota.

We were extremely impressed with battery life in an area where connection would go in and out of roaming and have to turn WiFi on and off depending on where we stayed.

Thank God for Sprint's unlimited data. I was keeping in touch with my work via email, texting, making calls to a friend we were traveling with, and spending nights reading these Forums. I never used the car charger despite spending long hours on the road between hotel stops where I typically only plugged in before hitting the sack. We drove home today spending nearly 10 hours on the road and came in the door with battery reading 70%, and I was using the phone quite a bit, without charging!

Color me very impressed. After two years on the wonderful EVO 4G, the Galaxy Nexus is a great replacement.

Got it yesterday. Fiddled with it a little. This morning I went to put my old SD card in it and.... huh? Where's the card slot? Oh well, it's got 4 times the amount of storage as the card that was in my EVO.

I must say, props to my local Sprint store (West Seattle). My EVO died yesterday and I'd planned to pick up the same thing my wife has, a Samsung Galaxy S II 4G Touch (way too many words in that name) and sitting next to it is this Galaxy Nexus. I look closer at the display and I see the letters "LTE". GOTTA HAVE THIS ONE!

They don't have any. The guy at the counter said they could do a "store swap" and looked in the computer for a store nearby that had one in stock. There's only one in Seattle and it's in Ballard, 15 miles away.

He says to me... "Can you wait until we can pick it up?" How long with that be, I ask. He says to me, "I think it'll only take an hour". So he sends a fellow employee to Ballard to get this phone for me and I went bowling. Came back an hour and a half later and they've got the phone.

Have you ever heard of such a thing?

He asks if I have a phone to trade in for a credit and I say, "Just a rooted and bricked EVO 4G." He asks if it'll turn on and I said "only into recovery". Good enough. I get a $90 credit and it cost me all of about $130 out the door.

Can't wait until they flip the switch for LTE in Seattle.

Great story and mirrors my own experience of how much Sprint customer service has improved in recent years.

Some may complain that the Gnex's memory cannot be upgraded. However, the plus side is that the SD card and internal storage are one and the same. Therefore we can install far more Apps than we could on the EVO.

Even when you "moved" Apps to the SD card on Froyo and Gingerbread, some of the code had to remain in the internal storage memory. So you were very limited to how many Apps could be installed.

The other issue with older versions of Android was that Widgets could not be moved to the SD card. That problem does not happen on ICS.

Just got my GNex yesterday and so far I'm loving this thing. My last three phones were a Hero, E4G, and a E3D. My wife has a Epic 4G and she loves it. Right now I"m sitting here wondering why I wasted so much time and money on HTCs. I think they are going to be a thing of the past for me.

I don't think that Sprint has released any time lines other than the one that said that they were going to be updating the entire network over the next two years.

When I got my nexus last week the guy at sprint said it will be live in 3 month but you can never trust some that is trying to sell you something they'll tell you what ever thanks for response o I believe the guy was the GM at the corp store in Brandon Tampa fl thanks again

Yeah I know what you mean. They told me that we would be live here in SE Alabama by the end of the year or early next year. I always take whatever they tell me with a grain of salt. But it does sound like they are moving faster with LTE than they did with WiMax. I know there are some cities already reporting that they have LTE, so maybe Sprint is just quietly turning it on as they get it going in each area. Anything has to be better than the Clear/WiMax debacle.

They have been working on NV for about month now in Tampa. so hopefully by June-Aug it will be live
