Hi there from Romania,
I'm using one ZTE U960 in my country with SIM1-Vodafone & SIM2-Orange.
My device was ordered rooted and unlocked from EtoTalk.
Checking Settings/About Phone I found that my model number is: EtoTalk.Com U960 2B03 V1.5d, Android version 2.3.5, SIM1 baseband version: U960V1.0.2B03T & SIM2 baseband version: U960V1.0.2B03W, hardware number: ts6c?!, kernel version 2.6.35.7-perf+. Processor ARMv7 rev1, BogoMIPS 681.57-Hardware:MSM7X30 ZTE U960, Frequency Range:122.88->1024.0MHz, Current Frequency: 1024.0MHz.
Adobe Flash Player ver.11.0.1.153-size 64KB, resolution: 480x800, refresh rate: 56.0, X factor for DIP:1.5?!, density: 240dpi.
Product: msm7630_zteu960. Some of the informations are obtained using Android System Info (@catty62-what application have you used for screenshot?-ShootMe doesn't work on my ZTE)
Flash Player isn't working, Android Market successfully transform to Google Play, SMS contact name isn't appear with default messaging application or Handcent-I use ICS Messaging but - ATTENTION!- it seems that the old application doesn't work anymore and when I send SMS with ICS Messaging it use only SIM1 and I can't select SIM2.
Regarding USSD codes for SIM1-Vodafone ROmania- it works, also for SIM2-Orange ROmania- but I haven't tested all the codes.
And now, the questions:
1. What is the latest custom ROM made by Catty, I have found too many links?ZTE_U960_MOD_Catty_v1.5.1_wipe &
ZTE_U960_MOD_Catty_v1.5.1_nowipe
2. Do you have EtoTalk Tools for Android 2011.08.23v1.3? I have this application and ... I have no idea what to do with it.
3. I also have one application - Software update - I assume that it connect to EtoTalk.com and download updates but ...

Regarding USSD codes for SIM1-Vodafone ROmania- it works, also for SIM2-Orange ROmania- but I haven't tested all the codes.

Interesting, can you tell if USSD on SIM1 are still working with the Catty's rom ? (do a backup of your rom first, both with titanium backup and from the recovery menu)

It's the same rom,, one of the two wipes the phone, the other one can be used to upgrade an older rom `w/o deleting your installed apps and your configurations (usually it works flawlwssly if the old and new roms are close enough)

2. Do you have EtoTalk Tools for Android 2011.08.23v1.3? I have this application and ... I have no idea what to do with it.

It's more or less useless, maybe it works better on phones based on Mediatec CPUs.

If the process of flashing rom is ended without error, try to wipe the cache and the dalvik from the recovery ...
If not solve the problem try to rewipe the cache and the dalvik and try to reflash the rom ...
(the dalvik wipe is found in the advanced menu of the recovery)

But i have the same problem, i can not flash your rom.
That is what i do:
First i go in recover modus
Next i go to advanced
Then of wipe dalvik cache
Yes- wipe dalvik cache
Reboot
Them install zip from sdcard
Choose from sdcard
I look for our rom
Yes-install zie u960 mod catty..151wipe
After ca. One minute i see start copy system files and so on
I go back to reboott system now
But after them i see only a with picture.

What must i do? I dont no.
Can you wright me . For . What i must do?

Try to flash a different ROM firstly to see what happen.

You can find mine on post #8, if it works, try to flash catty's one as a second step

after them i will flash version 1.5.1 but it not going.
Same i write in my first theme. I see only a white picture.

on the v1.5.0 try to install the last update that you can find here and see if it's working...
(with the update you have all the init.d support, the 379Mb of ram and the overclock to 1.4Ghz)

I installed Catty ROM 1.5.1 today (from #149), then installed the OC Kernel (From #187).

Works very well so far, very very fast! Much faster than the old original Etotalk ROM I had.

I did have a freeze as I was trying to enter google login info on 1st boot. Rebooted, entered info and all now runs well.

Flashplayer looks like it is working! This did not work on old ROM so thanks for that.

A question, is V6SuperCharger working by default in this ROM?

I have not flashed the new radios yet, but not really had many problems with SIM2, SIM1 is a little flakey for data, so will update radio soon.

I hope to try it with my in car bluetooth mono FM transmitter later, see if that now works....

99,9999999999999% it is fake - the probably just changed the version number so that it shows 4.0.3...

First i flash 1.5.0 --that is ok
After i will flash 1.5.1-BUT I CAN NOT FLASH this rom after 1.5.0
So i can not flash the new Kernel.
I dont now what i must do.
I think is better when i wait of ics 4.0

However, my current dual sim is by Gigabyte. The battery-life is not very good, indeed so bad that I turned syncing off. It also has glitches. Switching between sim 1 to sim 2 takes forever.

That is the main reason for wanting this dual active phone.

Then my question: how is call quality on those sims, switching etc? Can the proud owners please comment.

299 from fastcardtech including shipping seems a good deal (even with a fake 4.0). Any other suggestions?

Oh, the other phone I am looking at is the Lenovo A750 or the ZP100. Seem very fast.

V6SuperCharger is not working by it self you must install it that is locate in /system/xbin/v6sc.sh
to install V6SuperCharger run it as "SU" and you must use this options:
Scrolling speed Option: Choose 1 fast
Integration build.prop: choose option B integrates with build.prop
Init.rc Integration: Integrates with init.rc choose option Y
Disable Animation AWESOME V6?: Select Y to disable
Select menu item 10 to perform automatic configuration
SuperMinFree Calculator Apply Settings? Choose Y to enforce
At the end choose option 30 to exit and restart the terminal to complete the configuration.
After the restart, wait 180 seconds and run /system/xbin/v6sc.sh to verify if the configuration properly gives "100% Supercharger"

We have already replied many times to this kind of questions (here and in the generic dual sim thread).

Battery life is good, sensitivity very good, and audio quality is way better than other well known monosim [smart]phones.

Being a dual radio there isn't any lag on call switching between sim 1 and 2

Haven't looked for prices lately, surely this looks like a good price, the very first users payed for it almost 500$ (and are still happy)

Yes, i suggested those models as cheaper but (likely) worth alternatives when they aren't still released.

The main concern is the battery life, not the CPU power that looks on par, if not better, than the cpu used on the ZTE phone, surely is waaaay better than the elder MTK CPU (quadrant results are around 2200 for MT6575 v.s 600 for MT6573).

The battery life is surely not on par with the zte one, but the question is still open.

We have to wait for real users experiences.

You can use this phone, more or less all over the world, with few exceptions

AFAIK Spain's networks are standard GSM/WCDMA networks w/o any strange frequency or protocol oddities

Is there anyone that couldt give a helping hand rasing the volume level on my bluetooth headset, as it is really low compared to my old phone.
(same headset different phone)

I looked at the code sheet attached in this tread but i seem to fail at getting it to work, or what codes to use.

Thanks i will test this over the next few days, loud volume on headset is a must for me as i work in a loud enviroment from time to time, and the headset volume on the ZTE is really low compared to when i use the same headset with the old phone.

Headset is a Jabra headset, if that matters.
