Why do you recommend ginger kernel? Also, I just flashed this rom, and it looks exactly the same as the stock except the battery shows percentage.. I'm looking for a full custom rom that when I boot the phone it shows something different rather than virgin mobile logo.. Something like a video I saw on How to install custom roms on Optimus M and Nand backup - YouTube as you see on 09:22.. There's that epic boot animation that I'm craving for.. I hate that virgin mobile logo.. On the serious note, I don't even know what the hell I'm talking about.. I just got this phone, and I'm new to rooting and custom roms.. LOL.

Bro.. I am not a modder, and it's certainly not my hobbie.. But if you can make my slider reboot to this animation android fries apple bootanimation with sound!! - YouTube.. I'll give you loads of props. I already tried it by downloading the file and overwriting the stock anime, but all it did was reboot 7 seconds and then onto the homescreen.. This boot anime last aprox.. 1 min 7 second.. Is there a way to tweak the system to make reboot last that long?

I appreciate you posting your custom rom on here. I have recently modded my optimus v very successfully but my fiance's slider is giving me some problems. I tried to install your rom after following your instructions and wiping the caches first but i am still getting stuck in the boot loop. If you can give me any details on how to make your custom rom work for me i would greatly appreciate it. I am new to all this customizing and am not fully up to speed on these things. Did make a backup first if you did restore that

Then go into the recovery and wipe cache and dalvik cache only I know Optimus V has you wipe everything but this is harmful on the Slider

After that Flash Mobster Rom do not flash Gingerkernel reboot to system and if the phone works your fine no need to flash the kernel

Mediafire does that I've seen it on the Triumph aswell try using opera mobile to download from mediafire

nope tried both of them and it didnt work, just shows a blank screen on both my slider and prevail my pc will load the page but says not dl try reparing over an over but some things will dl just not for the slider

Did you set the client to desktop instead of android?

Did you both try to download using the same router and modem? If so go to McDonalds or somewhere there is free WiFi and try to download it again.

Market won't update won't let me install anything dwnloads then restarts. I'm also getting a md5 checksum mismatch on any new backups I try to restore old ones do fine andi get bootloop after doing a factory reset from recovery but I want this updating market and not installling thing to work I even downloaded new version of google play and when I install phone reboots and nothing changes

Weird I didn't change anything from 1.3 to 1.4 that would cause any of that.......

Ps. And you can't wipe data on the Optimus Slider it won't boot or anything after that one fix is to restore a nandroid backup
