If so reboot computer,
Reboot phone,
Try different usb port,
Try different USB cable,
Try different computer,

I tried a different port. Unfortunately, I don't have a different cable. I already have the driver on a different computer (downloaded back in August when I rooted the phone) and I know it works, but I'm at a different location.

Ok, Lordvincent90, I attached my phone to my home pc (which always works and let's me access my phone files) and it does not recognize my phone either. I used two different cords with the same results. So, do you think that perhaps its a phone setting issue? Any advice you could give will be greatly appreciated!

Sometimes it takes several minutes after you plug the phone in to your computer for the first time after installing the drivers. I have seen the computer take 5 minutes after the phone was plugged in before the PC was ready.
It has been plugged in for about 30 minutes straight now. Nothing. I'm thinking that maybe I changed some setting on my phone that is causing this?? Not too long ago I did get the app "autostarts" to disable the phone from giving me a hassle about a system update. I'm thinking that maybe I accidentally did something through that app? I might try to freeze that app and uninstall it to see if that cures the problem. Trying to figure this out is driving me nuts.......

I backuped and uninstalled autostarts and still cannot access my phone through the pc. Neither device recognizes the other except to charge the phone. Any ideas?

I would try a different cord... That's the only thing i can think of... No settings that i am aware of can make the phone unrecognizable...
I tried a different cord in different ports and it finally did give me the option to turn on USB storage and then the computer said was "installing the device driver software". After that it said "Device driver software not successfully installed". Underneath that it said:
Samsung Android USB Modem--ready to use
USB Mass Storage Device--failed
Samsung Android Composite ADB Interface--failed.

I am just baffled. I have never had this problem before. I did get a little further this time around, but it still says "USB Device Not Recognized" and I can't access the phone's files.

Edit-power the phone off, and connect to usb/pc power on while connected if it asks about installing drivers (it should) don't select the option to allow windows to find them, instead select the option to browse for the drivers, and locate your dl and select it... It should install correctly (hopefully)
