Many of us gathered for the Pre-Release of the Galaxy Nexus and have said we don't want to lose the community feel we gained while waiting an excruciatingly long time, so this is where we can gather to catch up and chatter about whatever our hearts desire. Simple Rules: 1. all topics are welcome as long as they do not violate any of the rules established by Android Forums 2. we are open minded

:hello:

Uhhh, no. My wife can barely finish a half of one of the regular burgers there. Last time we went we got one burger and an appetizer and split it and left full.

Haha, my wife can eat me under the table. She always makes fun of me at holidays when I am done after one plate, and she has thirds and dessert.

Yeah, I basically eat like a bird too. I love eating, but always in small portions. Bread, on the other hand, I can eat a whole loaf with a huge slabbing of butter no problem :).

Good morning all and Happy Thursday!

Got a lot of work done on my iOS app last night and even got iAds to test correctly. I enjoy the way this is coming out and I can't wait to get it tested and in the app store. Gonna try iAds for a few months since I know how much I can generate from Admob so wanna see which performs better as far as fill rate and CTR goes. Screenshot below!

Everytime I go to the barber he needs to shave my neck. I've decided that I don't have a receding hairline, but a retreating one. I figure by the time I am eighty I'll be completely bald but will have a very nice patch of hair in the center of my back.

I love when the barber shaves the back of my neck with a straight razor. My favorite part of the haircut.

Looks good, but I'll put this place's burgers up against anywhere in the world! Mugshots

This is their challenge burger. Eat it in 12 minutes along with the onion ring, fries, and pickle chip and it's on the house. If not, $20. Not bad either way. Each patty is a half-pounder and the buns are extremely fresh sourdough bread. Best burger I've ever had. Then there's the beer battered fries, fried pickle chips, rotel with home-made tortilla chips, etc etc etc

Oh wow that looks amazing. I'd love to try that - gotta find one.

Have a question for you (and Stigy), what software are you using for app creation? I picked up an Android App Development for Dummies book but haven't done much with it. Java isn't something I know much about so that's the big stepping stone.

I use Eclipse IDE. It's a pretty good program. If you just go to the android developer site and follow the tutorials you can get the sdk and Eclipse set up in a couple of hours.

I use Eclipse as well. I have done other programming before so Java was realtively easy to pick up for me. The Android developer site is amazing for tutorials and resources.

To get started, this was one of the best tutorials out there: Android Development Tutorial

Lol. I like your wife! I am not one of those women who eats teeny tiny portions. And yes, there are times I can ingest more than is prudent. (Hence my real estate battle with my hips, tummy and arse ):D

I know I said I thought ads would look better at the bottom, but I don't like the way it interferes with the screen real estate. I think it would look better at the top right above nutritional info if that's possible.

You're gonna have to make a trip down south, haha:

haha, I'm like your wife too XD Though I've conditioned myself to eat small meals...I have been known to eat more than some guy mates (180+lb) of mine, lol. I really indulge when I go to the buffets XD

Negative, lol. I do good to finish one regular burger and the fries. My wife isn't one of those women that eats like a bird, she can put down some food sometimes.

Most people don't know that back in 1912 Hellmann's mayonnaise was manufactured in England. In fact, the Titanic was carrying 12,000 jars of the condiment scheduled for delivery at Vera Cruz, Mexico, which was to be the next port of call for the great ship after its stop in New York. This would have been the largest single shipment of mayonnaise ever delivered to Mexico. But as we know, the great ship did not make it to New York. The ship hit an iceberg and sank, and the cargo was forever lost.

The people of Mexico, who were crazy about mayonnaise and eagerly awaiting its delivery, were disconsolate at the loss. Their anguish was so great, that they declared a National Day of Mourning, which they still observe to this day.

The National Day of Mourning occurs each year on May 5th and is known, of course, as Cinco de Mayo.

Uhhh, why can't I access Google Drive on my PC? Every site tells me "It's coming soon". Very confused.
And now I can't on my Nexus. The app is installed, but it says it's not ready yet. Must be missing something.
I've got everything working except sync (haven't tried at home yet and work firewall blocks it). Still not at easy to use as dropbox.

If you can't sign in, that means they haven't rolled it out to your account yet. I just got my drive access yesterday. I signed up for the notification, so I got an email when I had access.

Are we back to the original days of Gmail?! Ha, anyway, thanks for the tip.
Anyone else an OG user of Gmail who relied on an invite for Gmail? I was in 04 when I was at culinary school. My boss at the computer lab sent me an invite and I've been addicted ever since. :D

It's not an invite per say, just how Google is rolling it out. Which, IMO sucks!!!

In the gray bar just below google drive on the right hand side is a button that says "Go to Google Drive." I just clicked that and it goes to my stored files. I didn't do anything fancy when I set mine up, maybe they are only allowing people to set up in batches.
