I have to reboot my phone for gps to work. I know that hroark made fix for this but im running the Kato kerne. I thought i read somewhere that Kato kernel has that fix in it. So im not sure if flashing the fix will be a good idea or not. Ive looked around on here and cant find any previous post for exactly this topic. If there is can someone post a link. Im thankfull for any useful input.

I have found two things about gps and Hroark's ROM
1-the notification toggle does not always turn gps on/off (use the option in the settings menu)
2-. Some apps do not like our when gps it's turned on after they are open. try closing the app (with the back button, not by pressing home) then turning on gps, then opening the app. And yea, katokernel has the map fix in it(so the mapfix kernel isn't needed)

The Katokernel has the map fix in it. If you flash Hroarks map fix, it will remove the oc 'ed kernel. Don't do it if you want to run an overclocked kernel.:D

Sure looks like my last option, but dang getting tired of flashing. Oh well lest its free

lol no doubt on that 1. Man, i always use Odin, found it's the best way to solve issues like that. I could just about do it blindfolded now.:D

You would probably spend more time trouble shooting than you would just doing a fresh install. ;)

Is there a Odin version of CM7 Beta5? I was just on the CM thread and only saw the link for CWM version. Or does that version work for both Odin and CWM? Or have I completely lost my mind now.

No Odin image for CM7 that I know of.

You will use Odin to install the EJ06 or FA19 rooted image(i installed EJ06, signal sux on FA19). Then update CWM with Hroarks CWM update zip. Then all ya gotta do is flash the CWM zips.( CM7 beta5, katokernel for CM7, etc.) You need only use Odin 1 time.

It actually wouldn't be too hard to make one, fresh install cm7 factory wipe, and use the Odin packer... i may do it when i get home, but that isn't until Monday... Lol

Well if you did decide to make one, Ill give it a try. When ever Iv ran CM7 Iv had GPS issues. But Im starting to think that its just my divice. Iv flashed and reflashed so much from Clock Work, that Im thinking WetBiker has a point. I prob need to wipe it clean and put it all on there fresh from Odin.

Just think.... all this time that you've been trouble shooting you could have already been done and running a BRAND NEW, FRESH, CLEAN, CRISP, FAST, NON-LAGGING COPY OF CM7. get my point? :p:rofl:

EDIT: I got tired of spending so much time trying to figure out what I had messed up in the past so I started using Odin a lot. It actually doesn't take that long at all and when you're finished, you've got a fresh install. If you look back over a lot of my posts, I tell a lot of people to use Odin.

This also may be the reason Ive had so much trouble with other roms lately. Im not going to mention them because enough dev bashing has been going on lately. I think other people may be having similar issues with their phones for the same reason that I am. Maybe someone should start a thread about it. Although It shouldn't be me, Im terrible at explaining things, plus there are more qualified people on this site than my self.
