I noticed there were parts and fragments of tutorials, but never a fill tutorial. For this phone, so I decided to make one. This tutorial will guide you through the process or rooting your phone, using ODIN for CWM, and Installing a custom ROM. You can also use the STOCK Rom ODIN file to restore if you ever need to take the phone back for warranty issues, or to restore from a softbrick.

Rooting/Prep
1)Download SuperOneClick and Samsung Drivers.

Extract and Open and Install the Samsung Drivers. Sometimes a reboot is needed.
2) On your phone, go into Settings -> Applications -> Development -> and Enable USB Debugging. Connect your phone to your computer.
3) Back on your PC, open up SuperOneClick and on the top right corner select ZergRush as the root method, then click root. The program WILL FREEZE! This is normal.. Leave it alone... Go get some beer or something.
4) Your phone needs to be restarted now... Do it.... and unplug your usb from your phone.
CWM and Custom ROM

2) Extract and Open Odin
3) Pull the battery out of your phone... If you don't know how to do this, look for the finger nail slot. Wait 5 SECONDS... and place the battery back into the phone. PRESS AND HOLD BOTH VOLUME BUTTONS (+ and -) and DO NOT TOUCH THE POWER BUTTON!!!! just plug your usb into your phone again.
4) It will boot into download mode...Make sure it shows up in ODIN.. The large white text box to the left will say Added! and one of the boxes on the top left will be yellow and say COM. Click PDA and find the .tar file and select it. Then click START and wait.
5) If all goes well, The box above the KERNEL box will light up GREEN and SAY PASS! if it does not, try again.
6) It all went well, the phone will restart!
7) To boot into RECOVERY, Unplug your phone and pull the battery for five seconds. Then, press and hold VOLUME UP, VOLUME DOWN, AND POWER. go to mounts and storage. Select USB storage
7a) Plug your phone into the PC
7b) Download these files, as well as WINRAR (google it) to extract files.
To extract them, highlight all four files and right click and select
extract here.

8a) Move the Valhalla File into your SD card. The Tar File is the Stock ODIN file.
8b) Go into advanced and WIPE THE DALVIK CACHE!, Go back, then into mounts and storage and FORMAT /CACHE, /DATA, and try to format /SYSTEM. FORMAT SYSTEM PARTITION DOES NOT WORK WITH SOME PHONES! Then go back to the main menu and FACTORY RESET!
9) click install zip from SD Card, then choose Choose ZIP. Choose the Valhalla File and begin the installation. When it's done, reboot into the Custom ROM. Be sure to check out the extra tweaks in the settings menu!

STEP 1) Extract the Samsung Drivers and Install. Extract the ODIN folder, and Extract the four part file using WINRAR (google winrar). Then, extract the T blah blah blah.zip file
STEP 2) If you messed up during firmware update, just turn on and connect your phone, if it's just extremely messed up, or you want to revert to stock, Remove your battery for five minutes, then place it back inside. Press and Hold the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons but DO NOT press the power button. Then, while holding the buttons, connect the USB.
STEP 3) Open ODIN and make sure it shows up in ODIN.. The large white text box to the left will say Added! and one of the boxes on the top left will be yellow and say COM. Click PDA and find the .tar file insdie the Tblah blah blah folder you extracted from the zip and select it. Then click START and let your phone become UNBRICKED
... btw this method return the original recovery and kills root... as well as every litle piece of data on your phone.
