The place I'm currently employed is renewing their contract with Verizon and we finally get smartphones! Below is a list of the choices:

  • Droid X2
  • Droid Pro
  • Droid 3
  • Droid Bionic
  • Droid Charge
  • Droid 4
  • Droid RAZR 16G
  • Oh and an Iphone 4 8G :D
Since I work out of the office remotely with a laptop quite often, I'm going to need the tethering / hotspot option with 4G, so my choices are narrowed down to the Droid 4, Charge, and Bionic. I'm told the RAZR does not offer tethering...

Which would you chose?

if it was iphone 4s i would go for that, just because i enjoy messing with siri :p

i pick Razr, its an amazing phone, and will be the only device currently getting ICS (im not sure if the Droid 4 will see it, i would assume so)

its a shame they do not give you the option of the RAZR MAXX :( but congrats bud! i wish my job would give us smart phones :)

and the tethering you want, i would recommend that you get the plan to tether, but if you do not want to go that route, i completely understand, there are apps out on the market that will provide that for you, and as far as i know, i think all of those devices can tether.

Given the choice between the D4, Charge, and Bionic, I'd probably pick the charge.

I'm guessing the company is paying for the tethering plan. Wonder why they said tethering was only available on 3 devices. As long as you have a tethering plan, Mobile Hotspot functionality should have been available on Android from Froyo 2.2. and up.
