External Card Reader for Galaxy Nexus?

Question: I am trying to decide between the Epic 4g Touch and the Galaxy Nexus. My major drawback is that there is no microsd slot. However, I saw on sprint's website that they have something called a Battery Boost and it double's as a microsd card reader. Has anyone successfully used this with their nexus or used and other sort of external card reader device?

i've not used anything like this. I will say though that i have not missed the sd slot one single time since owning the Nexus.

I understand though that for some people it is a must have and that is fine. To each their own.

I bought a USB Host cable and it works great for flash drives as long as they use FAT formatting and not NTFS. I even attach my DSLR to it and use my phone as a controller.

In the pictures for this one is shows them using a memory card reader so it should work fine. I can try it when I get home from work.

That cable works a treat. Using a USB hub, I managed to get several USB drives on the phone. My Nexus literally had 500 GB of storage.

Too bad USB host draws power like mad crazy (your powering other usb devices....on the phone battery).
