Root A question bout factory reset

Ok i read a few different ways to do a factory reset, but is it safe to factory reset a huawei ascend m860 thats perm. Rooted? If so, i assume do the volume up, start and power button method right? Thanks!

If you could give a bit more information about your device,we should be able to help you w/your phone.

1) CARRIER : CRICKET or METRO PCS

2) STANDARD HUAWEI ASCEND or TAP-OUT EDITION

3) STOCK ANDROID RECOVERY or CLOCKWORKWOD RECOVERY

4) ANDROID VERSION (2.1,2.2) or running a customized ROM such as ICARUS 1.1,CM6/CM7

-its a cricket phone i currently have no service plus i revently moved ou of cricket servive area

well kolio thanks for responding
but heres my problem, i had stock m860 2.1 rooted my phone everything was still ok at this point i updated to cm7 2.3.5
now enters a few problems.. sometimes phone freezes on start up, no wifi, an now my busybox and titanuim back up apps say theres no root and and i noticed my rom manager app wont allow me to fix permissions.. but my root checker says my phone has root access??

i was originaly going to reflash my phone but im thinking maybe fix my root issues. sadly i kinda know what im doin but apparently not enough lol

The OP got things working on his own via CWM RECOVERY wipe of BOOT,CACHE,DATA,SYSTEM,SD-EXT & a Re-Flash of the CM7 ROM.

kolio, thanks my friend i have been offline for a min. i dont know much about phones but im always lookin to customize and improve my phones performance so my next venture will be how to use terminal emulator lol if i come across any problems you will hear from me lol
