Help Recover after a Factory Reset?

So I was trying to root my phone but the pinned guide doesn't say anything about how you do it so I was trying to get a beta key from revolutionary io or something

But now I realize there's nothing it even lets you download after you get the beta key

When trying to get my HBOOT version, in the recovery menu I thought after I found it I could just hold power off to restart my phone, but I think I selected factory reset. Now, everything I installed is lost.

I have all my apps and data from before I wiped it still on the SD card, but it doesn't want to use the apps and data that are already on my SD card.

How do I change it back so that it actually looks at what I have installed on my SD card and puts everything back on?

Thanks

And on a side note, is there an actual proper guide on how to root your phone? I have an Incredible S version 233 hboot 113

Nope there is no way to recover the apps and data on your SD card after a factory reset.

As for HBOOT 1.13, you can gain S-OFF using the process at Revolutionary.io. Sounds like you need to read and reread the procedure and documentation page. It is fairly easy process and does work if you understand the instructions and know what you are doing.

Are you sure there's no way?

I still have all the data of my phone before the reset on the SD card I am using as well as another one, except now it doesn't want to recognize any of the data. Like for example, my music and apps and contacts are still all on the SD card, but they aren't recognized as installed when I plug in my SD card. Is there any way to get it to recognize and reinstall all my data and contacts and such?

Music and contacts are one thing, apps and data installed on the SD card are another.

The music player should find the music on the SD card just fine. For the contacts, you may have to do an import from SD card to reload.

Ok so I checked my music library and everything is still there, but the installed applications and contacts aren't showing up. How would I import from SD card to reload?

There is a Import from SD card menu option when you launch the Contacts app, assuming you used the Export to SD card option before the System Reset. If not, then how do you know the contacts are on the SD card?

It's because I actually have a second SD card with everything on it before the reset. But I guess if it's not stored onto the SD card by default, then I'm screwed -_- How would I put my apps back on?

It has been my experience that once I sign back in with my Google account it will start redownloading all of the apps I had downloaded before.
