Canadian ICS Update...anyone ???

Hello fellow canucks,

just wondering if anyone was able to receive the update to ICS yet???
I'm clicking on my update every hour...yes I'm anxious!!!

Nope. I have a Rogers Note. So far no updates yet on Kies or OTA. I have heard Bell started to roll out the update though via Kies (not OTA).

Does the phone tell you this is available, or do you have to open Kies to check?

I honestly don't know. I've heard some Bell users claiming they got the official update via Kies. I don't know if it's true or not (no confirmation). I assume they had Kies running, plugged in the phone and had a pop-up saying new firmware available.

I can assure you that as of 00:04EST Bell still has no update via kies nor ota

Thanks for the confirmation. Rogers so far doesn't have the update either (Kies or OTA). Wonder if Telus has it yet... Probably not by the look of things.

Galaxy SII gets it tomorrow according to Mobile Syrup. I have heard that May 15 is the preliminary date (xda forums for the Note).

I talked to Bell earlier this week & they said that the update was still scheduled to hit by the end of June & it is suppose to come OTA. Well obviously Bell lies again about the date but the update will come OTA as the Bell & I'm assuming other Canadian Providers models will not connect to KIES for update purposes at all. The ppl in Canada that got their updates have purchased the international model & think just because the have it on a Canadian Provider that that's who the got the update from, Wrong. They would have got the update at the same time that whatever country the phone originated from. As Telus has released an actual date (July 13th) for the Note to be updated then I'm pretty sure Bell will release the update this week as they are always first to receive updates. Hopefully Bells lie turns out to be just a little one & I'm correct in my assumption. - KID ANDROID.

Well, it might not be this week as I just read that TELUS has pushed back the update date to the end of July. Rogers has also released a date for the update to start rolling out & that date is the 21st of July. So I'm pretty sure those of us with a GALAXY NOTE on Bell will not see the update this week, especially since Samsung is a little busy trying to find out what went wrong with the update in France that had some ppl ending up with a bricked Note after trying to install the update. I'm hoping it was just over KIES that was the problem as those of us in Canada can only update our GALAXY NOTES via an OTA UPDATE. I REALLY WISH BELL WOULD TELL US SOME THING, PREFERABLY FOLLOW SUIT & GIVE US AN ACTUAL DATE FOR A DAMN CHANGE. I don't think providers quite realize just how much these updates mean to us Androidians, it sure is enough to make ppl change phone makers & indeed switch providers if we don't think they're taking our business serious. - KID ANDROID. (will we see ICS before others see Jelly Bean or better yet before the GALAXY NOTE 2 hits shelves?)

Well, Bell says the "estimated" date is July 16 (my b-day), and Telus not far behind so this time for some silly reason I do honestly think we are just a couple of weeks away from official now.
