Root Safestrap - NO CWR after update

I have the Razr(First, sorry if this issue is in the forum, but I searched like crazy on several forums and CAN'T BELIEVE I can't find the same issue).

I've always had save strap on (Currently 1.08, went to 09, but seemed less compatible with the 812 update).

Anyway, Very simply...EVERY TIME I BOOTED, I got that screen, you hit menu to enter recovery, or search to boot.

EVER since I updated to the 812, it just boots, NO OPTION FOR CWR.

Safestrap is on there, in APPS, if I hit it, I get the 2 buttons to mess with the ROMS, BUT NO WAY to get CWR??

Why in the world is it not booting to that screen right away???

At first it was a bit of an annoyance, but now NO WAY TO MAKE BACKUPS?

ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED...

THANKS...
Spyder / Jeff

PS: I have yet to try a bootstrap, but no way until I can get a clean backup, wouldn't everyone agree....?

I did the same thing...you lost root. if you haven't figured out yet. I ran motofail (again cause i already did a long time ago before the update), then for the hell of it, i uninstalled safestrap and reinstalled it...then ran the safestrap app and let it re-install recovery. reboot and youll see your nice lil safe mode screen. :D

You lost root AND the update reinstalled the stock recovery. The OP is complaining about (b), but to fix that you need to fixed (a) first.

Yea, I do thank you for the input, BUT:

With the 812 update, that spashscreen is just NOT HAPPENING. I installed, reinstalled.

TO CONFIRM: I went back a few updates, but back on safestrap and got it.

So, it has to be the update, just asking if anyone got it to go, or alternative.

Of course Bootstrap has recovery, but you need to be in the apps to use it, what good is that if your locked up and need recovery? RIGHT.....

THANKS.....JEFF

Im not sure if im reading things more complicated than what they are. I'm on the 812 update and i see the safestrap spash screen at every boot. had to re-root because superuser just showed that safestrap app failed.

I am wondering, I can't remember if I Protected Root when I went to 812, so that right now is my guess.

Thing is...Bootstrap or whatever, if you don't get an option for recovery before boot, what good is it, if you can get into the apps and activate bootstrap, so what, your good enough to get in...So this spashwindow is impt. to me.

XDA has a method that puts up recovery on each boot, but not sure about 812 compatibility?

I guess the only way to find out is back it down, re-update step by step, assuring to protect root.

Although, thinking about it, safestrap opens fine in the apps with the 2 buttons, just no splash.

What could I have done...but sounds like you have it good shape...

DID YOU OTA THE UPDATES, OR RSD?

What did you use to protect root, voodoo?

THANKS, this is the best/closest reply I've gotten, and the first that I've heard to have the splash on 812, so WHEN EVER YOU HAVE TIME, I don't want to be a pain, just as much detail on you updating as possible would be great.

THANKS SO MUCH......JEFF (BTW: I am moving to Africa(in PA now), in less than 2 weeks. I know we want all this on the board for everyone, but my email is spyder5157@gmail.com, so if you reply move than say a week, can you please cut/paste into an email, since I'm not sure what I can get and not, but I know I can get that email.

THANKS AGAIN....JEFF
