The only update that was officially announced was the update about the new 3g Push-to-talk service that will be coming to select smartphones on Sprint and Boost.

I just went to re-download the samsung source from the opensource website and saw this

Samsung added an entry for an update called FC29
If you look at the release notes, they update the gallery, a BUNCH of APKs and from what I can see a bunch of drivers, too.
Maybe Samsung has been listening and finally pushed an update to fix the screen??

Note: This new source specifically says, for Boost Mobile, there isn't one posted for the Sprint version of the phone yet, but have any of you guys received an alert for an update??

Note 2; just like LG Marquee, this update may make the phone unrootable, so before compiling your own be sure to create a backup.

i'v been waiting 4 an upd8...

version info - Android gingerbread 2.3.6 please be the lag/ts/ciq-remover... (i will know soon)

at least now i have ksrces to read....

So does this mean in a week or so i should return to my stock rom and unroot my TU?Im sure someone willl tell all of us other TU users if and when the OTA update is out.I also have a stupid question lol if they give us a OTA update will i still be able to use the one click root i have stored away on my laptop.I hope im not being too much of a pain in the a$$ haha.

It depends, if our one click root doesnt work on 2.3.6 someones gonna have to find another exploit. Until another exploit is found you can allways odin to a stock root 2.3.4 ROM for the Ultra.

Im currently running ur rom bro lol,but I have another TU that is just stock no root & has CWM on it(its not activated currently its my ladys phone) i made a copy of that stock rom on my lappy months ago its 2.3.4, or do i have to use odin in order to receive OTA?

No go to settings about phone and system updates "i think lol dont have my phone". The OS update is rolled out in batches meaning that not everyone will get it at the same time. Some people can start getting it as early as the day when Samsung decides to roll it out. Some people might not get it that early it could be weeks or months believe it or not. Not many people dont have the Ultra compared to the galaxy prevail so we should get the updates within days or weeks apart from each other.

Remember what happened on the Marquee when their update hit and wiped out their root. I think i have the only Marquee with root on the latest firmware (that was achieved by accident). If i am correct the updated firmware for the Prevail wiped out their root too. Beware the updates! =-O

Edit: I am not saying that someone should not update their firmware, but realize that it could be a point of no return. I learned this the hard way with the LG Marquee (another reason to read through threads BEFORE you update). :'(

Nice, I still rather stick to your ROM than deal with an update. At least I know that will work without having to go through ODIN. ;)

The ROM will automatically be updated to the newest version as soon as we get to files so we can start working on it. we should have it fully running on 2.3.6 within 2 weeks after Samsung pushes out the update depending on how many days after we get root for 2.3.6. So you wont have to worry about updating your self.

Spoke to BobZhome today and i asked him if he can check the new kernel source for the FC29 update that we will getting soon to see if the touchscreen settings have been changed and he confirmed it that Samsung did change the touch screen settings. FINALLYYYYYYYYYYY but wait, its not over till the fat lady sings. we gotta test it our selves when we get it. Heres a list of changes at Bob's Github
