Question about Sensation model

I'm looking to buy a HTC Sensation but from the pics the guy has sent me I can't tell exactly which model it is. From the outside it looks like the Sensation 4G but the model number under "about phone" says HTC Sensation XE with beats audio. The phone is also lacking the red accents of the XE model. The last thing is that it says it has an MSM8660 processor which I'm not sure if that was used in any sensation models.

Thanks for you help. I posted pics from him.

looks like a sensation 4G that has been rooted to run the XE software. Hence the 1.5 ghz bump in speed as well...sensation runs the same chip but is underclocked at 1.2...

Ok, ill ask the seller and see what he says. That thought of it being rooted went through my mind but I didn't know it would change the model on that screen.

in terms of the chip number...if memory serves correctly the 8660 is a variant of the 8260 found in the sensation and sensation xe...tha variance being the the 8660 runs on cdma...

where is this seller located? You might want to make sure it can run on whatever network you'll pop it on...

Its a Tmobile phone so it shouldn't be CDMA but ill look into it. Thanks

It's definitely not a Sensation XE, it's a Sensation rooted and flashed with ARHD to make it look like an XE.
But from looking at the photo's if that is the handset being advertised, it doesn't look like it has been looked after, screen looks tatty and there might be more damage than we can see. Depending on how much is being asked for it, I'd be very careful and ask more questions before parting with any money.

If those are photo's of the actual phone you are buying i wouldnt touch it with bargepole mate, looks like its been dragged through a hedge backwards

I'm pretty sure it was just a screen protector that was scratched haha.

Even if it was a screen protector dont think i've ever seen one in that condition and probably a good indicator as to how the poor wee phone was treated in general. Well done on stearing clear of it mate:D
