Root How do I make my own custom theme for Marquee with UOT Kitchen?

Ok first let me say although I am a noob here to the android world. I am a rather advanced "user". I tried to make a custom theme for my LS855 ZVC CTMod. It failed to load after 2 tries with CWM. Now I can see what to do as far as making my theme how I want it, dont need help with that. But can someone simply explain which files I need to upload from the original CTMod. And what settings do I need to change in UOT in order for my theme to install with CWM?

u are running into issues with the updater-script most likely. I can fix it if you send it to me

Sorry I hadn't got back to you. Sometime you just have to be patient, as we can be busy with other things. Anyways to create a theme in UOT for CTMod you will upload the SystemUI.apk and Framework-res.apk into UOT and after they complete, make your mods, then download it. I will give you the zip you need to use to replace the files for the next step. Then you will take the settings folder from the UOT zip and put it into /system/ from the CTMod_Theme_Installer.zip. Replace the /system/app/systemUI.apk and /system/framework/framework-res.apk in the CTMod_Theme_Installer.zip with the ones from the UOT zip.. Make sure you keep the MET-INF folder from the CTMod_Theme_Installer.zip intact, do not replace or modify it. Save to the root of your sd card and flash in CWM.

Wow a reply already? And from you? This place is great lol. Thanks for the great work you did on marky beats. But basically all I am trying to do is leave the entire original CTMod theme only changing battery, status icons to cyanish, and adding ics window animations. Should be simply enough right? I wish I could use the original battery icon from marky beats v1 the blue circle one u put in is the best battery icon I ever saw

I know what to do now but thanks anyway. One question tho. Where can I find that battery I Icon from the first marky beats? It was like a light blue ring that spins when charging.

when your in the Battery tab there are two menus you can use, one says custom the other says % sbc (or something like that i cant remember).

Check both menu's, its in one or the other.

Yup if those are the only changes you want to make, go to battery and select use this mod, then if I have the right battr Icon you could click the tab that says "SCB with %" and scroll down and click "Version P, Glowing Crysis". Then go to Window, select use this mod and click Use ICS 4.0 Animations. Then go to icons and select use this mod, then pick the icons you want to use and then click summary. As long as everything is green click "submit to kitchen" take note of the zip file name and click pickup and wait it out til it appears it refreshes itself every 60 sec. Then do as I posted above.
(As for the patience thing.. I just meant as far as creating a thread, it is all well and good, i just would have waited and I would have posted back in my Theme's Thread. just an fyi for the future my friend. Welcome to Android Forums by the way!)

Sorry bout that Bionic. That was my first post and after I made it, I thought I probably should not have put it inside your theme thread cause technically it was off topic. Thats what made me start a new thread. My apologies. Everything worked out great with the theme but I ended up making a new theme which is just a slightly modded version of your Bionic Green. Could you tell me where to find the settings for pulldown screen and toggle switch colors? And also is the skin for the dialer (green when call connected etc.). Is it part of the Bionic theme or the rom? Can I mod it?

No big deal.. And are you talking about the power widgets for the pull down notification bar? That would be in UOT under status bar mod. It will say power button options or something like that. As for the screen turning green when in call to red when you hang up, that is a part of the ROM.. I'm not sure how to mood that. A hint for modding a theme you already made, you can upload the systemUI.apk and framework-res.apk from your theme and edit what you need and it will keep the mods you already made and change what you tell it to. This way you don't have to start all over new again.

Yea those pull down notification things are the ones I was talking about. That is what stopped me from wanting to create my own entire theme and ended up just modifying yours cause you did all the hard work already lol. Thanks for the tip too but that is actually what I did to mod Bionic Green. Only changed the battery and status bar icons

I also need some advice. When I make the theme everything goes well, but the power menu OR popups with black text in general. I change the color of the text in the kitchen, but when I load up the theme it doesn't change it. Idk whats wrong?

before you flash the new theme, make sure to wipe cache partition and dalvik cache. That way there is no trace of the old theme and mixes with your new one. Hope that helps :)

Nope didn't work /: Btw is there a way for UOT Kitchen to save my previous themes? So that I may edit them at any time without having to restart all over again its really becoming a pain xD.
EDIT: Nevermind I think I found how to save it.

Wiping the Cache Partition should be sufficient, that is all i do to flash them. The instructions to install are on my Theme Threads.

I tried uploading the framework and systemui picked up my file and got error status 0 and wouldn't flash am I missing something or same issue with updater script ?

Yea I was getting the same error before Bionic helped me. Scroll up and look at the updater script and instructions he gave me. After I followed that no more status 0 errors for me

Hey guys, was wondering if someone can give me a copy of the correct updater-script file for the theme.zip to flash them correctly from UOT Kitchen, hope someone can help me out with this, I'm trying to make my theme for the Marquee's version of CTMod 3.6. Hopefully this'll get the ball rolling on other people getting started on their contributions of themes for this kickass phone... :p Thanks in advance... :D
