A few GoSMS questions

I am coming from Chomp and can't figure out a few things.

How do you get the keyboard to pop up automatically when entering a conversation?

How do you get the pop up to come up over a lock screen? Not unlock it, but just come up over then go away when dismissed, leaving the lock screen.

Why won't my text to speech program, Ivona, work with this program?

Thanks!

For the keyboard... Settings -> under the advanced tab, appearance settings -> conversation other settings -> check show virtual keyboard.

I've seen the pop up one before I'm still trying to find that one again

Awesome, that was it for the keyboard, I don't know how I missed it! As for the pop-up, it is still useful since it will at least still show. But the good thing about Chomp is that it will stay visible (if you want it to) until you dismiss it. That way if you come back to your phone you can see that you have a text. I guess I will have to pay more attention to the LED!

But, so far, I am liking GOSms at least as much, if not more, than Chomp.

Thanks!

What do you mean it will stay visible? Do you want it to turn your screen on and adjust the screen time out when you have a message?

I wasn't sure about the lockscreen because I use WidgetLocker and it handles some things differently than the stock lockscreen.

I am hoping to mimic the Chomp feature where it will come up over the lockscreen then, as you say, adjust the screen time out. I actually did find where to adjust the screen time out (at least up to 10 minutes, which works for me), but it won't come up over the lock screen. It can turn ON the screen and leave it locked, and you would see the small notification, but not the pop up. Or, you can have it turn on the screen, unlock it, and show the pop up. This latter option is what I am going to go with for now.

I also really like the ability to use the big viewer straight from the popup. That is nice for long messages. And the intense level of customization is amazing.

I can't find a setting anywhere to make it display over the stock lockscreen. If you get WidgetLocker to replace your lockscreen it shows over WidgetLocker fine. Plus, if you love the customization of GoSMS, I think you will love the customization of you lockscreen that WidgetLocker offers.
