RIM finally made the phone that I wanted them to make.......back in 2010.
I was hanging out at the Verizon store a few days ago just seeing what was around. Found that they still had a respectable portion of their store dedicated to Blackberries. So I wondered over there to play with them.
What I found was the Blackberry Bold, a phone series I always wish they brought over to Verizon because of the aesthetics. But heard it never will.
So I started playing with it.
Found that they replaced the track ball with the track-pad. A feature they coming out with just before it was time for me to get a new phone but it wasn't going to be coming on all phone.
I checked out the browser to see if it was any faster. If you guys don't recall BB's browser was slower then AOL's dial up. I would often go to a page and leave in my pocket and do other things while it downloaded the page. This was a painful experience and after awhile of having the BB I started to act like the phone didn't have internet because of how slow it was. But yes the browser is now much faster.
Then I notice how big the screen was my thumb accidentally grazed it and the browser scrolled. And the thought ran through my head this is exactly what i wanted BB to be 2 years ago. This was all it would of taken for me and maybe a few thousand other Blackberry users to stay with RIM. I use to love my BlackBerry, loved having a keyboard, loved supporting a Canadian company, loved having a naturally tough phone (especially when so many of your friends had a Sidekick).
But there were far too many problems with the experience of using it especially when you put it next to an Iphone..... And now it is way too little to late. I just wonder why they couldn't of came out with this phone 2 years ago.
Ok that is the end of my nostalgia....
