So I just got the Triumph, I have read that rooting the phone is the best thing to do. Now after doing some research on the ROMs that are out I have noticed there a lot out there. I have also read that a custom ROM has helped out a lot with reception,GPS and battery life, these are the only things I am really concerned about because those seem to be the main issues with the stock Triumph. I just want it to work in all areas I do not really care much about making it super fast.

Pretty much my only question is, which ROM is the most stable with correcting all of those issues without having to sacrifice my camera or any other feature for that matter. Thanks a lot guys!

My ROM includes the updated GPS libraries and a very good modded Gps.Conf. I never had much issue with GPS on any rom. Mine on bROM locks outside in about 5 seconds. However as many devs has stated before, the triumphs GPS issue isn't really software relates so a rom wont fix it. It may make it somewhat bstter. The issue is mainly from poorly designed hardware.

Hmmm hmm well what about the reception, I could of sworn that a custom ROM will also help get better reception is this true? Thanks again for the input guys maybe I will just be a follower and go with the CM7

No, they all have the same cell radio and will get the same reception. There are definitely very good 2.2 ROMs (as brandon pointed out). So don't leave them out of your consideration. Just look at what each one offers and decide based on your specific wants/needs and what the ROM offers. :)

Well I'm not sure what exactly tickerguy did to the GPS. I know on whyzors cm7 they use a different GPS.conf but I know tickerguy didn't change relates to GPS. Maybe he used updates the libraries and changed some of the os level code. I'm not sure!

He did some tinkering (maybe a lot of tinkering) to the code for the gps. I have heard that it is improved for some and not others, so not sure how much of a difference it would make. Thanks for the response, I was just curious.

Thanks for the input guys, you were right I had to go back to stock to activate.

So far though I like CM9 but the no camera is really killing me, there also seems to be a lot of lag time when turning on and off Wifi. Now I am thinking about going to CM7 because I thought I read the camera was working on one of their ROMs now I understand there is two CM7? Is there any big difference between the two at all?

Thanks again guys, love the forum!

Theres actually 3 CM7's

TG CM7 Final

CM7 tg-Reloaded 3-25

and CM7 g60Style R0.5

CM7 Final has its devolopment stopped and "the keys were givin to whyzor"

whyzor made CM7 tg-reloaded 3-25 its development has ended since he switched phones "the keys were given to g60 style"

g60style created CM7 g60style which he still is developing and updating currently

i personally have used both CM7 tg-reloaded 3-25 and CM7 g60style, both extremely excellent roms and both have everything working Except HDMI, but i usually stick to CM7 tg-reloaded 3-25
