OK, instead of getting an extended battery for my TB, i decided to get another standard battery and an external charger so i could just switch em out when one died (I didn't want the bulge). I've been doing so for several months with no problem other than the external charger only getting the battery up to 98%, which was not really an issue.

But recently I have had some issues that i really need help with, First, after beig charged all night, (100% on my phone being plugged in) it. will start to drain extremely fast. This is at home where I only use wifi not 3 or 4g (don't have 4g here anyway) I have power saver set for 20 percent and that's when I would usually change batteries. I get there crazy fast. At first I just thought it was just the one, but they both do it. Also if I plug it in when it's almost dead (under 20% or so) the next time I turn on the screet it says 100%! But it drains just as fast still.

Is it possible that the costant battery switching messed up the phone? I didn't think that would happen. I could make it from 7am to around 2 to 5pm, depending on use, before i had to switch.

Or is it that both batteries have crapped out at the same time and i need to get new ones?

Thanks to anybody that can help

If you don't get 4g did you turn off the lte radio. You can use thinderbolt lte onoff. In the market. Allso I use to do the same. Changing batteries I think it does show weird readings. Haven't used it. I just swich when I complety die. At 20% I still have a good hour or 2 with no data or sync on.

I agree...the Rezound battery has done wonders for my battery. and for that price, you cant not get it! I used to get crappy battery life (as did everyone) when using the stock battery, but i've seen about 2-6 hours improvement when using the Rezound battery. if i'm home all day, on wifi, it'll be off the charger for at a minimum of 14 hours and still have plenty left at the end of the day

Ok I ordered the Rezound battery a couple of days ago cause apparently it's awesome and the battery seems like the problem, but today I found out something else. When my battery got low to like 15 % or so, I'd plug it in. Well I didn't do that last night and after about an hour or so (when it should have clearly been dead) it was at 2%.

After charging it all night I unplugged it at around 7am and at about 10:30 it was down to 2%. Yeah I know. But I didn't charge it out of curiosity and it stayed at 2% until around 4 30. So I guess it's the phone? It's just misreading the battery level. It quickly drops to 2% like there's a leak and then holds there till it dies. Like I said before I have 2 batteries that I switch out so it has to be the phone. I'm posting this from my phone right now and it has "2%". So I have to just estimate how long it's gonna last.

I did an update in March. Didn't really know what it was for, but could that have done it?
Thanks to any replies and for previous ones.

Power down the phone. Hold the volume down and press power til you get into the phone menu. Under the wipe menu (I believe that's where it is, been awhile since I've had a stock TB) find the "wipe battery stats". Wipe them clean, then reboot. It may or may not work, but it's worth trying
Hi there. You seem to have knowledge, I've had my bolt since day one of release no problems, in fact it still like new. My main problem is for months I only see my green light when notifications need attention. I charge every night never reaches full or 100% just 89%. If I restart device after charging that 89% jumps to 90-93% or may drop to 88%. I have both extended and standard bolt and rezound batteries
, as well as the seidio 1600 mah and a after market 3500mah battery. So as you can see I've spent a lot of money thinking it was the battery or the htc charging dock screwing batteries and or device up. Any suggestions? I really do not want to master reset. As we all know some of the better Market apps are gone and I have a few I am not willing to part with just yet. I am not rooted. Do you think my battery stats are off as well. One more thing after recharging sometimes when I check my battery use it will still show 10hrs or whatever when it should show only minutes or so many seconds not hrs when it was just taken off charger overnight. Thank you to whomever can help me. Looking forward to seeing and using 100% of my battery again.

you can try wiping the battery stats and see if that clears up the issue. it may not work right away so give it a few days to see if it worked.

Do I have to be rooted to do this. If not could you walk me to the option? Thanks

no, you do not need to be rooted to wipe the battery stats. like i mentioned, i dont have a stock TB so i cant give you the specifics for wiping them, but once you get into the recovery menu (power down, hold volume down and power button) and search thru the menu options (using volume to select up and down and power button to select) and there should be a wipe battery stat option.

You're right. I've been following your thread hoping someone would respond so I could find out how to do it. I haven't done a battery wipe yet. I don't see the option on the menu. That's why I figured you had to be rooted. But I can say that since I got the Rezound battery, my phone will still drop to 2% within a couple hours of being fully charged., but it lasts a full day and that has NEVER happed since I got the phone. Sorry. I'll send you a message when I do if you want me to.

Of course. I'm still having same issues. New update did not correct the problem. Can only charge to about 86-88%. Battery use shortcut widget will not reset for days now 7 to be exact.

I still haven't been able to do it battery wipe, but I decided to see if doing a factory reset would help since it was supposed to be able to help some phone problems. So I backed up all my stuff and went for it. But alas it didn't help. I still go from 100 to 2% in a couple of hours. Rezound battery, standard battery, doesn't matter. The Rezound lasts practically all day and the standard lasts a lot longer than it did before. I think an update may have been responsible for my situation. I can't think of anything else.

Being that I have apps that have been removed from market, how do you back all apps up, before Master resetting? Market removes all the best apps for whatever reason.
