What issues has the Verizon 4.0.4 fixed?

I returned my gnex due to 4g always dropping. Has the leaked update fixed the issue or no?

Reports are it did not fix the mid-call muting thing. Time will tell I guess. I don't make that many phone calls so I haven't checked yet. I only flashed the bootloader and radios so I can't speak to this one yet (though if VZW DID fix it and it's not in AOSP - wtf VZW, give back to open source - unless you just want to F-over all the non-stock people, which wouldn't surprise me.).

For me, the signal is about the same. Seems to maybe get slightly better in some cases and does seem to hold onto LTE better, but it's all very nebulous and I can't quantify it specifically.

Keep me updated! I may end up picking another one up if it holds onto 4g

I was having the 1-way mid-call mute, dropped calls and frequent random reboots and Liquid Smooth 1.25 + the 4.0.4 radios fixed ALL those issues for me! I was going to go back to stock when the OTA dropped, but it sounds like I am better off staying right where I am at.

Don't know if this was fixed earlier or as part.of the new release, but the calendar widget finally displays all day events. I've been waiting for this fix as I think the stock calendar widget fits with ICS really njcely. And I'm a little tired of 3rd party widgets. Probably inconsequential to 99% of you...

I had a hard time warming up to 3rd-party calendar widgets until I installed Jorte Calendar at the recommendation of someone here. It's a great calendar, the widgets are pretty much any size you can think of, and you can enter the time of an event without using that godforsaken +/- wheel. I can't say enough good things about it. Give it a shot. (displays all day events with no issue, too)

My GNex has a few issues. Once in a blue moon it locks up or has a random reboot. I have noticed the occasional lag in typing. The camera is pretty bad. All of these I can live with. What I can't live with is that my data connection sucks.

If I am stationary and connected to my data plan and the phone's screen is on and being used...I have no issues with data. But if I let my phone lock or move from a 4G to 3G zone...I lose data connection. I have to reboot the whole phone to get it back and sometimes it doesn't come back for several minutes.

What really sucks is I have Juice Defender to save life and this app turns off the data plan when the screen is off to save on power. Once every 15 min it tuns the data back on to check for mail etc. If I manually unlock it...same thing...it turns the data back on. The problem though is that the data bug has a chance to occur every time the phone makes the switch.

There have been times when I was without my data for up to 10 minutes. When you are traveling and trying to look up directions...it sucks. You sit there waiting and waiting. I work for a news station and use my phone for directions and when my station sends me an address and I can't leave for 10 min because I keep having to reboot my phone and wait for it to finally sink up...it's bad.

Not to mention I live in Tampa and when I do have my data plan...it's almost always a strong 4G. So it's not like I live in the boonies without much nearby as far as data coverage. I really hope this is fixed with the update. If not I am going to take my phone back to Verizon.

The latest update fixes the typing lag.
The camera is solid. Its not the best in the world by any means, and its not great with auto focus. If you take the time to tap the screen and pick your focus point, its actually quite good.

Like colchiro said, dump juice defender. People praise it left and right but I think it causes more problems than it solves.

I'm rooted and running LiquidSmooth so I only flashed the radios and bootloader from the update;

With that said it appears to me that I'm holding 4G much better at my office (which is saying a lot) and the hand off from 4G to 3G is MUCH improved. I was never getting the mid call mute issue so I can't comment on that issue.

some are getting better data connection, some less, some same.
call quality still sucks balls...!!

Call quality has been great for me since I bought the phone. I think this is largely dependent on what area you're in too though.

The new radios haven't really made a difference to me from what I can tell though. I still have to toggle LTE/mobile data to pick up 3G/4G occasionally. Usually it hands it off pretty well, but it's still not quite as fast on hand-offs as my wife's Rezound; the second she gets near 4G it switches over almost immediately. My Gnex usually takes at least a min or so longer to switch than her Rezound does.

Other than that, I get the same signal and service at home and work that I've had since buying the phone on launch day. Which is to say that I really haven't had a problem with reception on this phone. It gets service everywhere my old Droid did and my wifes Rezound does, so that's good with me. In fact, at work where Verizon is weak, I've had to tether a co-workers Razr to my Nexus so she could download a phone update because her phone wouldn't pull a 3G signal whereas mine was holding onto 1 bar or so. I even checked to see if her mobile data was disabled because I know Moto is known for their great antenna tech, so that surprised me.
