Hello everyone,
Im hoping someone can shed some light on this topic for me. Google gets me nowhere when I search the topic, so I found this place.
First of all, my girlfriend is currently deployed in Korea and she will be there for another week till this Saturday.
There is a 17 hour difference from there and here (San Diego, CA.) so talking is very difficult because when I can talk, she is sleeping, when she can talk, I am sleeping. But with the very little time we get to talk, we make it work.
Here is where the big problem comes in. I know Skype is one of the best video chat programs out there. I have it installed on my Macbook Pro and it works great. But, since my girlfriend is in Korea, I let her take the Macbook so we could Skype.
But I cant say the same about it on my EVO. Skype is the biggest piece of crap fail a** app I have EVER downloaded. I dont know if it is my phone, or the app itself.
Whenever my girlfriend tries to call me, when I answer, my screen lock pops up AFTER ive already answered and the video goes to crap. My phone freezes, and the only way out, is to shut the phone off.
Sometimes the calls wont even go through at all. I know she is online, because she is calling me and telling me she is calling and im not answering. So I try, and same thing, no answer and she says she never got any call. I stay online all day and night because I never know when she will call, and I want to be able to answer when she does call. But apparently on her side, it says im offline. So if im asleep and she is calling but the call is never going through, there goes another valuable hour of talk-time down the sh*t hole because of this crap, and the next time I can talk to her is god knows when.
The video calls constantly drop. To a point where if a call drops, I dont know if ill get ahold of her again.
Its very frustrating first of all to be able to talk very little while she is away, and Skype is our only way of talking. When Skype is constantly taking a dump it pisses me the hell off.
Does anybody else have these problems? If so, what did you do to fix it?
