Hello everyone. Im getting my new Galaxy Note end of next week and I CANT WAIT....

What the hell do i do though to get all my music,photos,videos and contacts from my iPhone 4 to the NOTE.. Starting to worry now.

Been told that my contacts will sync when i log into my gmail account but what about everything else....OMG.....

PLEASE HELP need to get my house into order for when my toy arrives.....

Have you done a backup with itunes? Once you do, go to your itune folder and find your music, photo's, video's, etc... Move them all to a single folder to transfer to a micro sd card for your phone.

If you don't want to do this, download a copy of dropbox, sky drive, google drive and sugarsync. Upload your music to one, your videos to another, your photo's to another and so on. I saydo it this was, since each cloud storage has different storage capacities and I am betting you have more than 2gigs of video, so you wouldn't want to use dropbox for vids. This will take a while to do.

Last option is to jailbreak your phone (assuming it is not a 4s) load iFile from Cydia and then you will have access to allyour files, just like Android. You can then plug your phone into your pc and manually move allyour files to the pc, via itunes.

One note. I know on my Samsung Skyrocket, I had to make a folder called 'music' on the sd card for music to play. Once you get the Note, you may have to put the photo's in the dcim folder on the phone for them to show in your gallery, but I'm not sure, since i have neither the Note or Ice Cream Sandwich. Whatever video player you end up using, just direct it to the folder on your sd card and download all vids to your sd card.

By the way, sinse you are in the UK, Staples was having a sale on 32gb 10x speed micro sd cards and sd adapter for the pc (not sure if Wales has Staples. I lived in England, so know they have the store.) Total price in US was around $35. Change the dollar sign to Pound sign in the UK. And I can say, you will want to get a 32gb card as soon as you can. 16gb gets eaten fast! Especially with lots of apps, music, photos & vids!

You can get the photo out it but the music/video is probably not. They are drm-protected. Although you can put them on another device, they can't be played.

I keep hearing this from people that don't use macs. That policy ent put the window in 2007 or 8. All my songs are mp3 format and I movethem alloverthe place. Did a nice easy click and drag drop tp get them on to my Skyrocket. Had all my vids, email, website links, photos and music on my phone wihon minutes.

Had to getit all off my iphone 4 first, which was fairly simple to do.

Hope I didn't speak pre-maturely (maybe I did, sorry) and no intentions of scaring anyone.

I believe that it's Samsung's policy to declare end of life once the new models are out but I'm glad you asked - announced is not be the same thing as out and available to consumers.

For whatever reason, ATT seems to have the view that the newer Samsungs are the right offerings, as evidenced here -

With the advent of Samsung's better phones a few years ago, any Galaxy S has become a series instead of a single model. The US variants are required because we as a nation seem dead against cell radio standardization (good and bad, it is what it is), and basically the carriers step in and say, "Well, Samsung, while you have to modify the phone anyway, here are our feature demands and changes."

I lost count of the number of names used for the SGS and SGS2, honestly.

Something you don't face in Europe, so far as I know.

Anyway, point is, ok to trust someone with advice from an odd-sounding phone. It's likely an SGS2 that they're talking about, and the advice is likely to apply perfectly to your Note.

(And of course, the Note is its own distinct model, not just a name variation - later than the SGS2, before the (just announced) SGS3.)

Thanks for the article. I read it and dropping the HD Skyrocket is not a surprise to me. I would be surprised if the Skyrocket is dropped though, sinse it was just listed by Samsung to receive the ICS uprade!

End of life won't necessarily mean end of support. Sprint has already declared the Evo 3D at EOL and stopped selling them completely but this week gave its ICS upgrade as coming next month.

Policies vary by carrier and maker, but Google asked the Open Handset Alliance last year to commit to 18 months of update support so people wouldn't get screwed whenever a new model comes out. Good move on their part.
