Root Official HTC EVO Design 4G

Don't look at this all bad. The Prevail, which is a step behind the Marquee has a huge dev scene right now. Once this new 4G phone comes out, the price for the Marquee will likely drop again at some point and this phone can still see some good progress in the dev scene much like how the older Prevail had better support then the newer Marquee.

However, I will be dropping this phone for the 4G one. If it was just a newer better 3G phone I wouldn't bother since I do like the Marquee. It's a great 3g phone.

But since the new one coming out is a 4G phone, I will be getting it no questions asked. :D

So jealous :argh: 1.5ghz and dual core. ARGHHH so much more potential yet it came soo late. Ah well i'm not regretting the LG Marquee. It is still an awesome phone with potential that still has not been unlocked. Besides...I'll wait until the price on quad-core phones drop. I was thinking about the Samsung Galaxy S3 since it is quadcore :adore: Maybe next year I will get it and just use this phone with all it's glory and pass it on to the next lucky person in my family. Till then, LG MARQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE:vollkommenauf:

Exactly which Evo is it getting? The original Evo 4G? I want to get a good look on the specs of this upcoming phone. :p

lol the line between phone and computer is beginning to blur. Right now a decent desktop machine now a days would have a quad core and runs at 3.2Ghz (I'm excluding the more expensive machines that have 8 or more cores). Phones are now starting to inch up towards 2Ghz and already have quad core phones. Pretty soon they will hit 8+ cores and may begin to approach the 3.2Ghz mark! :p

Looks like I'm gonna have Boosts two most styling and best looking phones. :D

edit: Looks like I'm gonna have Boost and Virgin because Virgin is getting the HTC Evo V (aka Evo 3D)
But is Virgin's EVO V coming with ICS????

Edit...sure is.....F**k a monkey....I just switched from Virgin to Boost.....but Virgin throttles now...so....certainly some pros and cons to weigh here...I've spent some time with the Evo 3D and the Design 4G......The EVO 3D despite some mixed reviews is truly a breathtaking phone....And is actually 1 of only 2 phones that produces 3D images. Pretty amazing to play with in person.....Guess boost got the sh!tty end of this stick....So Boost gets the better 3G phone(Marquee) While Virgin gets the 4.3 inch EVO 3D for 4G.....Far better than the Design for Boost.....This sucks.......

That's what I said, I just got a Marquee 3 months ago and now BAM, the phone I wanted all along gets released on Virgin. I think the Boost Evo is gonna be on ICS out of the box as well.

Same here... I bought mine Mid-February... Now I won't have the $$ for the Evo 4G. Oh well I will have to stick with the Marquee for a while. By the time I can afford to upgrade my device they will most likely have other 4G options, LoL.

The only way I'm gonna have the money is my friend is buying the phone from me and I'm letting the account go with it because of maxed out shrinkage.

Well, Looking at the phones side by side... (added the comparison to the OP). The only thing the Design has on the Marquee is the 4G (obviously) and WiMAX radio, a little better screen resolution (540x960), Stock (single core) 1.2 Snapdragon S2, Android 2.3.4 upgraded to 4.x, and that is all I could tell was better. I guess I can live with having my Marquee.. And, not that it is a huge difference, but the Marquee has a 2mp Front Facing Camera and the Design has 1.2mp. (Both have 5mp regular camera with 720p Video.) I like my shrinkage to much to switch off Boost. Besides here in MI, VM reception is shit. Granted Boost's is not much better on the 3G network, but it isn't horrible. I am sure that this is the tip of the iceberg so to speak on Boost 4G Models. They will bring it out to test it, then release some other better models. At least that is what I am hoping for. This way by the time I am ready to buy a new device, i will have more options..

The EVO 3D on Virgin is really sort of end game....There's not much out there that can beat the EVO 3D on post-paid let alone on prepaid......Boost would have to get something like a Galaxy SII to even be in it's ballpark....Even then the SII won't wow anybody with 3D pictures the way the EVO 3D will for a few more years....Dual core, ICS, 4.3in screen, 3D photography......This game is OVER...And I left a grandfathered Virgin plan for the Marquee....:(

well a lot has to do with the phone, my cousin has the evo 4g flashed to boost and yet she gets faster speeds than me when were standing side by side and reception ain't great where i live either i get about 2 to 3 bars tops

and when i was on virgin my moms optimus v got way faster 3g than my triumph and more bars about 4 out of five when my triumph only got 2 out of 4

Honestly, I don't see the need for 3D images and the 4g may sound good but it depends on your area. I can barely even see the difference. And there seems to be awesome improvements via root that can make the Marquee even better. Don't give up the Marquee yet D:
I agree... 3D isn't something that appeals to me, at least not a good enough reason to leave the device I have. As for the 4G, I know as far as the Metro PCS 4G LTE is only a tad better than my 3G (Which is complete crap here, 100kbps Download and 400kbps Upload.) That is just Metro though, not sure how well Sprint 4G service fairs in my area. I do however, like that they added WiMAX. I still say I will wait though, look what happened when I bought the Marquee.. I feel like they will come out with a couple 4G Devices this year or next.. I will wait it out and see what else they come out with.
