IM Application

Greetings,
My Hero has two instances of the IM Application and no matter what they are always using up ram on the phone. Can this be uninstalled or moved without rooting? Please feel free to link me to the correct post if this has been discussed. I did search. Thanks

Have yo tried getting a taskkiller that has autokill and adding them to the auto kill list. Try Task Manager is has and auto kill feature that kills anything in the auto kill list whenever you turn your screen off. Also preinstalled programs cant be removed unless you root.

I'm pretty sure one instance is the IM application waiting to receive IMs, and the other is a background task of the actual IM application waiting for you to access it. if you're using IM with any regularity, you'll want both running.

Thanks for your responses. My battery does better without the task killer. I do no IM messaging unless texting counts. I guess I will just shut it off manually when needed.
