Root need help :(

ok so i have an evo flashed to metro
running radiance sense 3.5
anthrax kernel
recovery amon ra 3.11
hboot 2.16 s-off

i was on cm7.2 rc1 and i looked up an address on google maps and it got stuck on fastboot. i would go to bootloader, reboot, and it would boot in fastboot over and over so then i booted into recovery and installed Metrogenmod (CM7.1 for metro) because it was the one i had in my sd. it was working. i got home and wanted to switch rom and it installs but when it comes on it keeps rebooting. it comes on all the way to the setup screen and reboots over and over no stop. it has done this on TN shooter rom for evo 4g (i made sure it was for the evo 4g and not the shooter, evo 3d) rainy day (sense 3.0) MIUI, MikeG 3D. i dont know why. they are all good rom downloads because i had already flash them before and they had worked perfectly before (i am a flashaholic ) The only roms that work perfectly are Metrogenmod and Radiance. aslo my front camera sometimes work i dont know why.

i need a solution. my only next step is to unroot it and root it again.

No don't unroot it. That would be a step in the wrong direction.

What are you wiping before you flash these roms? Sounds to me like a classic case of not fully wiping

i wipe everything except sd card and then i flash superwipe.zip and then flash a rom. i know its not my wiping.

if i unroot i have the files for the old unroot so my hboot will stay 2.16 and android 2.3.4 so i can get full s-off with revolutionary

So they will install but reboot once they get to the setup screen?

Have you tried redownloading the files? I know they worked before but its worth a shot.

Unrooting and then re-rooting is almost never the answer. We will get this sorted out

Yea they install correctly and just reboot when they finally boot.

i have re-downloaded two roms and got the same results

and i went from amon ra 2.3 to amon ra 3.11

i honestly do not see the point in that. what roms have you tried again? have you tried a sense rom?

if anything, you can try running a ruu of hboot 2.16. this will give you stock rom and recovery. you will still be rooted. if the issue still occurs then something is definitely wrong. if it works out ok then you will need to just install a custom recovery.

No unrooting is just turning Securities Back on which wont allow you to write to the partitions. Rooting has nothing else to do with whats going on.

UNROOTING THE PHONE IS EQUIVALENT TO STRIPPING DOWN THE WHOLE CAR JUST TO CHANGE THE AIR FILTER

When you say the "setup" screen do you mean to set up your accounts? Or do you mean the white HTC splash screen?

If 2 roms still work then I would do what others say, Do not unroot, and try downloadeing the roms again and reflashing them. It's weird if 2 do work perfectly but none of the others do. It also sounds like your wiping very well.

Yes I did, I tried sense 3.0 roms: rainy day and team nocturnal shooter. Sense 3.5 radiance. And AOSP miui. But I think I'm going to try the ruu file and see if that works

i already flashed the recovery and im flashing rom Shooter by Team Nocturnal and it just rebooted at the setup screen
i dont know why. i just downloaded this rom again

you can also try just a stock but rooted rom:
[ROM]STOCK 4.67.651.3 (new ota update)[ROM] - xda-developers

try the odexed version.

i am using amon ra 3.11

stock rom is working currently but im going to go back to radiance. i like sense 3.5 way better
im going to use the sd card from my htc inc and see if maybe its the sd, i really hope not! i love my 32 gb class 10 sd

and just to be sure, you are wiping sd ext, correct?

also maybe try going back to amon ra 2.3 instead.

im trying with a different sd card. im hoping this works. i'll go back to 2,3 in a little bit i just really like 3.11

Just an update
Every other Rom seems to work like normal except for team nocturnals shooter Rom and miui (gingerbread), miui ics works front camera doesn't work at all. Any fix for that? But everything else is ok. Running energy sense 3.5 right now

Yes, I downloaded shooter rom again and put it in my 8gb sd and it did the same so I'm back to my 32 gb card now. Looks like I will be getting another evo soon so now I can have one for use and one for flashing roms lol

No Ics rom has ffc yet, so that's normal. I'm glad we've narrowed down a list. What miui gb build are you using? The official ports for miui.us were garbage at the end. Use swipers build

the ffc doesnt work on any rom. i switch cameras and it stays in a black screen forever. where can i get a link to miui gb? i'm not sure which version i have but it says miui 1.12.30
