I am using a zte warp stock gingerbread 2.3.5 rooted phone. Your phone does not have to be rooted for this to work. You need cdma workshop to change your prl to a sprint prl. I use 60683.prl. there are other methods to change your prl.. that will be fine. As long as you change to a sprint prl.
Step one. Change your prl
Step to. Go to settings>wireless and networks>mobile networks.
Step three. Change network mode to EvDo only.
Step four. Go to dialer and dial *983*3640#. Scroll to bottom of page and confirm network mode is EvDo. Do not change anything, you will get FC.
Step five. Reboot your phone and run speedtest app from market.
Step six. Thank me if this helped you.

Ultimately what you have done is put your phone on sprint towers using their EvDo network which is way better than boosts cdma. Your phone will still use sprint cdma but your 3g will be purely sprint EvDo.

You do realize that if people do this, they will probably have terrible signal majority of the time...I wouldnt at all recommend purely evdo, most people arent in zones that have excellent coverage...i think its awesome your trying to help but...for example im in Upstate NY, if I did that, id never have service...removing the proxies is enough to increase speed, not changing to EvDo only...there are new / inexperienced people on this forum who will try this, and end up having no signal...bc if EvDo is not available where they are, the phone will just show no data signal at all

How long has this worked for you? What is your average results?

If you live in a city with amazing coverage, and you NEVER travel out of that city, then MAYBE id recommend this, otherwise, i think , its absolutely pointless/will make signal/speed worse. Sorry to be harsh but I tell it how it is. EVEN in cities that have maximum 3g coverage, phones constantly switch to 1x/back depending on # of connected phones /tower...time of the day...many things...

Going on three days now. It amazing to see such a difference. I just thought id share

Please don't hesitate to share and thats awesome actually, I just didnt quite grasp how that would help but your area must be much better coverage...I wasnt " bashing" your idea, i was just expressing mine ;). hell i might give it a try but i know signal is so shotty in my town that it will 99% most likely make it worse for me, but i guess in highly coveraged areas, it would help alot..possibly...;\

Whats the harm in trying.... it takes like 60 secs to change your prl.. as long as you know what your doing.. and 20 secs to change your preferred network type. You can always go back if it doesn't work for you. Its not like your doing irrepairable damage to your phone. Lol

how do you remove proxies and this prl change didn't work well for me but i should have known because my dad has sprint and his phone doesnt have signal where i dont either.
Once you have your SPC code....open the dialer, dial ##3282#, click edit, enter your SPC...go to Multimedia, and you will see RTSP Proxy address:, blank it out ( delete whatever is in there, click okay), do the same with HTTTPPD Proxy address, click okay. Leave the ports the same. but make sure u press the phones menu key, then save.
