Root official gingerbread update soon.

So do you guys think that the update will fix the GPS issue?

i dont think there going to have an update, there new 4g plans/phone is set for 5/31

and ive yet to see any reason to believe an update is coming

also i think the gps issue, seems to be an area coverage and/or hardware issue, cause some people have issues some people dont, i personally can open google maps and from a view of like the whole world itll target and zoom into my exact location in less then 30 seconds, altho on the stock froyo i did have gps issues, but i think it was due to my phone being so crappy cause i ran its memory into the ground lol

Sorry to say this guys but it looks like I won't have the Triumph long enough to see if it ever gets an update..... I just seen the Evo V 4G and I plan to get it when its comes out :) but I'll still stick around here on the Triumph forums even if I do upgrade ;)

Its okay I'm moving on too, I purchased a gnex from Google last night :D
All I gotta say I enjoyed your roms for the triumph and hopefully I'll get to try a rom by you for my gnex :p
Wonder if I can change my name to jargnex lol

Is virgins newer phones coming out have tons more space vs triumph (even more space then triumph)? And furthermore will they be "root friendly" like the triumph? What about tether friendly? And last anyone know a phone more powerful than triumph that also has hdmi? And what is a jargnex? Thanks!

Really wish the galaxy note had hdmi. I looked it up and it seems tether/root tedious and like it has very few custom roms and that tethering is monitored...thats no fun :)

Before i upgrade i look at how customizable it is. Im so glad i didnt go with the htc...seems to have only elbow room for apps on board even after ridding it of bloat

Galaxy Note has way over 200 rooms, you're looking in the wrong place. The very expensive and more popular phones have bigger communities over at XDA.

It will have about the same amount of user space as the MT. HTC aren't exactly root friendly phones... They aren't all that hard either you just have to pay closer attention to the direction since there is a higher chance of bricking. Tether friendly yes, and VM is going to have a tethering add-on as well. (this is all based on the Evo V, the Optimus Elite can't even compare...)

And the Galaxy Note does have HDMI out through MHL. You can get a MHL adapter which plugs into the micro USB port that makes it HDMI out. ;)

Oh yea and JarGnex is formally know as Jartriumph, but got the Gnex hence the name change.

I think something similar is going to happen with updates as it did with the optimus v. The optimus v came with 2.2.1 and it got updated to 2.2.2 I think shortly after the triumph (which came with 2.2.2) came out. Any thoughts on this?

Hmmm well how long did that update take for the V? Like a year and a half? So if the MT does get an update I would say it would take a while.... Probably after there are no MT users left lol. But VM can surprise (like getting a decent phone) so we'll see what happens down the road.

When we activate any of these new phones (like the Evo) when does the price increase from 25 to 35 take effect? Will you have to pay 35 upon activation and begin a new month or will the 35 be charged on the next regular monthly billing cycle?

That was my concern aswell I emailed VM if I don't hear back I'll end up calling them.....

Okay, I'm about to email them also. Let me know what you find out and I'll do the same :)

If I remember correctly, when I activated my Blackberry Curve (seems like years ago LOL!) I didn't pay the extra ten dollars for it until my next scheduled billing payment. I hope they do this the same way.

Guys, guys, we already have a gingerbread update!

http://androidforums.com/triumph-al...-triumph-2-3-4-gingerbread-update-4-30-a.html

We need to all get behind that. It's thiiiiiiis close to being done. All it needs is 3G and SMS/MMS. It has working microHDMI. I thought that was just a myth perpetrated by all the FroYo ROMers! :D

Plus, I can guaran-effing-tee that it'll be (and likely already is) miles ahead of whatever half-assed excuse for an "update" Motorola throws out.

to be safe, just wait till the end of the month to activate it if you dont get your answers. :pepsi:

Sounds like a good idea but my plan was to take my Triumph back to bestbuy and trade up to the Evo V 4G and pay the difference since my Triumph's charging port is almost done for I have to wiggle the USB cable to get my phone to charge same goes for the HDMI port.....
