Fresh 2.1

I really liked Fresh 2.0 and planned to stick with it, but after all the positive comments over on XDA about DamageControl I felt like I ought to try it. I can tell you DamageControl (at this point) is a more complete rom. Just about everything works like video, facebook sync, mms, and so on. I know Flipz has been out of town for a few days, so it wouldn't surprise me if he gets Fresh 2.0 "caught up" once he is back, but right now, I'd go with DamageControl. At this point, I have no reason to go back to 1.5. The 2.1 roms are good enough for my daily use.

Using the Fresh 2.01b I think it is called and have only one issues with it, pics don't display as they did in Gmail. I have Facebook, Twitter, RSS reader, Google Maps working great with no issues.

I have Fresh 2.0b2 running on my phone. Visual Voicemail doesn't work, but I have Google Voice for that. I think there might be an issue with the stock messaging app's notification LED, but I use Handcent and it works fine. The phone showed that I had 4 voicemails, which I didn't, but I went into Settings -> Call and reset the count and then put my own # in as the VM #, and it's fixed. This also enables old-school voicemail so you can hit '1' and get to your VM's. Oh, there's also an article about using *#*#3646#*#* to lock your phone to CDMA-only so it's not hunting for GSM or something like that, might increase battery life.

Every now and then I can't slide the lock screen down, but I just hit Menu twice anyway to unlock the phone.

This ROM runs so fast it's hardly believable. With the old processor in the Hero, I never thought the phone would be able to do what it does. Before, with Stock ROM or Fresh 1.1, the phone was so laggy while typing and general use, I wanted to get another phone. Now, everything is ridiculously fast. Calls pop right up on the screen, texting never lags, and multitasking is a genuinely pleasing experience. Hell, it connects outbound calls about 3x faster even.

I highly recommend this ROM.

I couldnt agree more. Fresh 2.0b is so fast. Sense took forever to load up when I reset my phone (every time I had to switch out the dead battery). Sense now loads completely in about 1/4 the time with Fresh 1.1. Now with 2.0b My battery lasts waaay longer. I cant tell you specific length but its gone over 24hours with 1hour update intervals on the stock HTC battery.

i just had to downgrade from 2 back to 1.1.

Ran into some major issues, started with not being able to send texts and then snowballed into a 30 second delay on calls. The phone continuing to call people after ended the call. and then restarting on its own and not starting up at all.

wiped and used my nandroid 1.1 backup to get back up and running. I don't know what happened, it was working just fine for over a week and then bam, serious issues.

guess I'll wait till another version comes out.
