[Official] Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE Pre-release thread - Sprint official launch is Saturday, June 2

This could have happened earlier this week. It's just taken the news blogs time to get the information.

Not doubting the story, but curious how something like this can happen at 9:00 at night and less than 3 days before the phones are supposed to be in our hands...

Does anyone know if the HTC One has an FM transmitter to play tunes straight to the radio? I really wish the 3VO had this feature.

According to the review at HTC Evo 4G LTE Review: Sometimes The Ugly Ones Try The Hardest, it does.

I doubt that this will affect the EVOs scheduled to be delivered on/by Friday... It will probably have a greater impact on future stock levels.

It's hard to believe that Sprint would risk the embarrassment of delaying their release by not having any stock on hand. I am sure they have a significant amount of EVOs ready to ship, if that is enough to fulfill all of the pre-orders is anyone's guess.

Sprint just told me that's it an HTC thing but it's true and they have no date of when it will be released now. I don't know! I'm calling back and asking another person. I was hoping it was just a rumor but it's true they said HTC is working on it and they have no date but that pre order people will get there's 1st. I preordered from Best Buy. This Sucks! I'm selling my phone this weekend! They said even pre order people won't get there's on the 18th and they have no idea when it will be.

Well sprint debited my bank account today for the same amount as the phone. Better be shipping soon then.

Would Sprint still sell the pre-orders knowing its possible this could take weeks to get resolved?

I would think Sprint would shut the whole process down and wait for a fix before releasing anything.

I was told pre orders are still being shipped out with the current stock they have. After that they may be scarce. After all some BB stores have already reported having a shipment of phones on hand.

I figured that if I get a UPS tracking number tonight (I pre-ordered from Sprint) then it would be safe to surmise that they had some in the system for Sprint and/or pre-ordered customers. I say that because it takes time to get a cargo ship from over there to over here, then truck it from the port to Kentucky for UPS Logistics to process.

Really are you sure about that? I live in Louisville where the warehouse is and I told Sprint that if there advertising this phone to be out on the 18th you would think some stores and warehouse already had it but he said no. He said HTC is out of Taiwan and it is being held up at Customs and it's a government thing and even the One-X is being held and he has no idea when it will be available. My AT&T store has been selling the One-X since the 6th and they had some when I was in there. And when I was pre ordering at Best Buy a guy walked in with one and was having a problem with it. So they were released a couple weeks ago. So I don't understand what the hold up is now. It's Crazy! I was told there is no current stock noone has the phone.

Correct me if I'm wrong (as though that needs to be said) but this is what I've been able to flesh out; The exlusionary order was handed down my the ITC in December. But they delayed the enforcement of it until April 19th, 2012 to give HTC time to fix the issues (main issue, hyper-linking in text messages). I believe that the One X and 4G LTE are either the newest phones, the first HTC phones with ICS, or both so this would be the first shipment that falls under the order.

I'm practically shaking from trying to contain my impatience. I really can't handle a delay at this point. If I don't have my LTEvo by Friday I'm going to have to cancel my order and pick up an iPhone 4S instead.

What a roller coaster ride you guys have had me on today....

Just for the heck of it I logged onto these forums today to see if there was a cool new phone coming out any time soon for Sprint (I don't come here often but I know what a great source of info. these forums are). I started reading about the Evo 4G LTE and as the hours went by I got more and more excited, so I placed my online preorder with Sprint. Finally I realized it was getting late so I jumped to the end (gosh everyone here has so much to say!!) only to find out it's being delayed? Yikes!!!! Well now I'm off to bed but I'm still excited about this awesome phone and I hope it's not delayed for too long!

I'm coming from an Evo Shift - which I love (and I never even use the slide out keyboard I thought I HAD to have) - but I do *love* getting a new toy to play with. I'm excited to be getting a phone that's thinner and lighter, my only concern is I think the overall size is a lot bigger than my Shift but I'll adapt.... as long as it shows up eventually . Funny how just earlier today I didn't even know about this phone and now I want it... now!!!

If I remember correctly, someone tried to sue someone because they "held" the patent for hyperlinks. They got smacked down big time in court. Thus, hyperlinks everywhere. So I bet that crApple knew they wouldn't have a chance in the U.S. courts. Unless they got a judge who loves KoolAid.
