HTC confirms One X multitasking tweaks in Sense 4 -- Engadget

For the life of me I cannot understand why OEMs insist on crippling Android? It is one thing to try and make it look pretty, even though stock ICS is beautiful. But now HTC is going too far!

Dear Tech Support,

Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow down in overall system performance, particularly in the flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0 .

In addition, before installing Husband 1.0, there were many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5 that were running. And then after installing Husband 1.0, many undesirable programs such as NBA 5.0, NFL 3.0 and Golf Clubs
4.1 started running. Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system.

Please note that I have tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail..

What can I do?

Signed,
Desperate.

DEAR DESPERATE ,

First, keep in mind that Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband 1.0 is an operating system.

Please enter command: ithoughtyoulovedme.html and try to download Tears 6.2 and do not forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update.

If that application works as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5.

However, remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0 or Beer 6.1 . Please note that Beer 6.1 is a very bad program that will download the Snoring Loudly Beta .

Whatever you do, DO NOT under any circumstances install Mother-In-Law 1.0 (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources).

In addition, please do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0 program. These are unsupported applications and will crash Husband 1.0 .

In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance.

We recommend Cooking 3.0 and Hot Lingerie 7.7...

Good Luck!

From Verizon:

As we have stated publicly, Verizon Wireless has been evaluating its pricing structure for some time. Customers have told us that they want to share data, similar to how they share minutes today. We are working on plans to provide customers with that option and will introduce new plans later this year.

When the new options are introduced, Unlimited Data will no longer be available to our customers purchasing handsets and signing a new contract. Customers who choose to purchase phones at full retail price and are currently on an unlimited smartphone data plan will be able to keep that plan. The same pricing and policies will apply to all 3G and 4GLTE smartphones.

We will share specific details of the plans well in advance of their introduction so customers will have time to evaluate the plans and make the best decisions for their wireless service. It is our goal and commitment to continue to provide customers with the same high value service they have come to expect from Verizon Wireless.

There you go. Start saving for your next phone.

I suspected as much, they won't risk losing customers by forcing them into the new plans, they will require an action by the customer. Thanks for the info!

What customer would want a bucket of data split between multiple phones? Who did they survey? Because it certainly wasn't ME! Verizon is going to rake in a fortune in overages, methinks...

Oh well, it looks like full retail for us from now on. And - of course - with smartphones getting more sophisticated, they'll be more expen$ive as well...

But depending on your family's usage it could be very worth it

I suppose so. I guess we're spoiled because in January 2011 Verizon ran a promotion that gives each of us unlimited data for $9.95 a month. No expiration! :D

Considering that, any change to our contract from now on would be catastrophic to our bill relative to what it is now. SO: full retail from now on will actually SAVE us money.
