Discuss all Moto Droid Razr/Maxx HD rumors/release date/speculation/news

I'm also in the same boat where I need to upgrade to 4g shortly from my droid x. Who's waiting for the fighter?

I might just jump the gun and get the MAXX if it really is 69$$.....

I was initially waiting for the Fighter, but stopped by the store because I kept reading that people were getting the Maxx for less than $199. If I could have gotten it for $69, I would be holding one right now.

What did they tell you the price was? I stopped by Costco's wireless kiosk today and talked to the guy there. Surprisingly, he had not heard about the Fighter. However, he said he has heard of longtime customers getting the $30 upgrade fee credited back on their statements but YMMV. :dontknow:

I just ordered it and I paid $199 and $30 for the upgrade fee ($246.09 with tax). I spoke with a Verizon person over the phone. She looked for about 10 minutes trying to find any kind of promo code or discount and the best she could do was $9.99 for each of the two lines for two months. So over a two months time frame I will get back $39.96.

oops my bad

Called 1.800.261.1694. Gave them my account information. Confirmed my unlimited data would be grandfathered in. DID NOT mention that I heard unlimited data woad going away. Confirmed that my 32 GB class 9 memmory card was compatable. Confirmed $30 off new contract. Confirmed $100 bonus for a 4G/LTE upgrade. Told them that I did not want to change anything on the contract. Just a new phone and a 2 year contract. FedEx brings it to me Friday.

Not enough digits in the phone number... Who did you buy the phone from? How in the world was there a $30 discount vs an upgrade fee? And was the $100 bonus because you never used your NE2 upgrade?

The $30 was my NE2. The ADDITINAL discount was because I was upgrading from 3G to 4G/LTE.

The price was $69 But the recent $30 upgrade fee made the Total Price $99.

I just checked with Fed Ex. The phone didn't ship until TODAY! Verizion said it would ship Wednesday. :( Fed Ex has it scheduled to arrive MONDAY

Cool. I googled the number and it was from a promotion VZW had sent out but I never saw it. It had advertised a free 4G phone but maybe the promo changed. I'll try calling and see what I can get.

Thanks.

They get you either way. Pay 600-700 for the Fighter Full Price (no contract) keep the phone say 2 years before you want another one. Yes you keep your unlimited data plan, but did you save in the long run? Depends how much the NEW Tiered plans will cost and how much Data you would essentially use that would require OVERAGE Costs.

Hard to determine without seeing the data plans and knowing how much you use. But 700 up front vs. throughout 2 years seems crazy. With the 2 year contract, you could at least throttle yourself back by streaming less to not pay overage, or increase your data pool to prevent overages.

If you are an average user and don't use TONS of data but liked that you had unlimited and never had to worry about checking, I think it would seem better to take the 2 yr contract on Tiered shared plan.

If you are a HEAVY USER, then maybe paying 700 up front would be adequate.

No way to know without knowing the plans and our individual monthly usage. Might be time to start monitoring our usage so we can have a good idea when they roll the plans out.

Me too, I'm waiting for the Maxx HD/Fighter. Just wish we could get something... anything official or even semi-official regarding the phone.

My "X" is humming along just fine, so at this point, I can afford to wait.

If the fighter is out after the date they announce for this to start, you would be better off buying a phone through verizon, then flipping it on ebay when the fighter is out.

Ok,I just lost the response I typed. So, assuming that the Fighter isn't out in time,I buy the Maxx at Best Buy (for tree upgrade price),along with Black Tie and Buy Back. When the Fighter releases, return the Maxx to Best Buy for the Buy Back (based on a % of retail) and get the Fighter.?

Argh, woman I spoke to knew nothing about a $100 bonus. She said promotions are usually phone number specific so I guess they target certain customers. All she would be able to do is the regular sale pricing of $199.

I asked about buying from Amazon Wireless and she said they require certain packages and if you make a change they consider it a contract cancellation. Plus any warranty issues have to go through them. I've never felt comfortable buying a phone from anyone other than Verizon, though I bought my last one from Costco. I don't think Costco has restrictions like the others.

Either return it or if you can't return it then sell it on ebay, then buy the fighter at retail.

Does anyone else think this is a good indication that new information will be coming out regarding the Fighter/HD? I thought ICS might be held from other Moto devices until the HD/Fighter came out, or was at least announced.

Motorola updates ICS upgrade roadmap, Droid RAZR and RAZR MAXX scheduled for Q2

Well, one can always hope..... and I do!!!!

Jeeeze, I'm really hungry for some official, or even semi-official infomation regarding the Maxx HD/Fighter.

Truth be known, I'll even settle for leaked/rumor info. :thumb:
