Unroot Singtel HTC Dream?

Can someone please inform me as to how i can install the OTA cupcake update just released. Im using a sintel dream so its not as simple as with the g1, however i have rooted my phone using the goldcard method, but using the same process doesnt work with the singtel rom, it says the verification failed, no signiture.

And please dont link me to all the "How to Unroot" guides on these and xda forums, as of posting this, they all dont work with the singtel rom and phone.

also, i love root, but im testing this so i can use my warranty if i ever need to

You can check the HTC site for Updates (dont understand why you did NOT get an OTA) and you should call your service provider to find out what is up with OTA updates ...

Also, in the settings .... dont you have a option "Check For Updates" ? ... my G1s do ...

heh, rereading my post and it doesn't make much sense, i actually rooted my phone to a different rom, and im trying to get back to the original rom, up until this update singtel customers couldn't because we didn't have the actual rom, but now we do im trying to find a way to do that.

What do you mean by the "original rom" ? The rom you flash after rooting ? or the ROM that came with the phone (Legit Rom) ?

follow the guide in my signature for UNROOT ...

This will return your phone to Legit G1 ...

After which you should go into Menu | Settings | About phone | System Updates ...
If there is a waiting update you will be able install it ...

yer, see the problem with your link is that it doesnt allow for singtel htc dreams. our original spl/bootloader was differant to the uk and us G1. we also cant use the dreaimg.nbh for the same reason.

it has been suggested to me on another forum that i grab the bootloader from the new legit update(OTA) manualy sign it, then flash the (OTA-singtel) rom.

Would that work? How would i manualy sign the spl/bootloader?

Sorry did not realize that you were across the pond ... no where in the post Did I see UK G1 ... so i assumed US G1 ...

thats alright, and im not across the pond per se, more down under, singtel is australia not uk
