Just curious what device everyone had before switching to the One S. And what you like best about your new device.

I had a Motorola Triumph before this. The two things I love best are the integrated wifi calling (US version) for the few areas that I don't get a signal (like when I visit my parents ) and the excellent battery life. There are a lot more things that I like about it, but those two are the tops.

Samsung Vibrant. What a total POS. Will be hard for Samsung to convince me to ever use one of their phones again. It was so slow/unstable and they were slow with updates. Took 6 months longer to get Froyo than my Droid X, which was released around the same time. Never got GB and Droid X been on GB for a long time no.w

HTC Desire.

Loved the phone, hated the battery life and lack of storage space. Wanted the HTC One X for quite a while before it came out, but decided it was too big for one-handed operating. The One S I can just manage with one hand.

The nearly two days of battery life, size of the storage and speed of the phone are a breath of fresh air after the Desire.

HTC Sensation. It was a good phone im actually upset i didnt jump on it sooner from my G2X. There were a lot of people that were saying that the One S was a smal upgrade compared to the sensation but i have to say that The One S has been the best phone ive owned to date. I thought sense would start to bother me and id have to root it and load CM on it like i did the sensation. So far almost three weeks now and im actually loving the new Sense.

The Camera is a huge bonus for me. There really is no reason to carry one around anymore. Im able to capture so many things that i couldnt before thanks to the burst shot. Battery life has been great. And my biggest concern the lack of memory card slot and such a small amount of on board hasnt been as bad as i thought, if anything its forced me to clean up my files/pictures more often. Highly recommend this phone.

HTC (Google) Nexus one..... built like a tank and still better than 50% of the phones being sold today, she's been good to me since the day I got her over 2 1/2 years ago.... just got the bug for a bigger screen.

HTC was a no brainer, though I must admitt I waited until the SG3 was released before I retired my beloved N1 and picked up the One S.....
Had the new phone for about a week and just let me say .... LUV IT!!!!

Will take a bit getting used to the sense UI..... but figure the switch to ICS would have been just as New??

A few things I have noticed already... #1 this is NO Tank!!!! I wouldnt even think about dropping this phone for fear of losing the screen!

#2 the 16gb of mem was a bit missleading, I don't think it will be and issue for me, but still actual user mem of under 10gb may be a deal breaker for some!?

#3 HOLY COW this baby is FAST!!!!! some times I think it is responding to my thoughts .....Let me say it one more time LUV IT!!!!!!

HTC Thunderbolt (Rooted) with Verizon, great phone. I got the ONE S a few days ago and boy....It is FAST!

I don't know about being built like a tank but reviews say the metal used for the casing is the best out there. An article said it was made from the same material used for satelites.

I can comfortably say this is the best phone I have used to date and I have used a lot. I get about 14 hours of battery life with moderate to aggresive use. Yesterday, I unplugged it and left it on standby from 7am, made a 5 minutes call and sent 7 SMS, checked my email a couple of times and at 7pm it still has 86% of battery life. The best I have had so far.

The memory is only 16GB, 10GB available but you get 25GB from Dropbox, works for me. Your photos are automatically uploaded to Dropbox.

It's the ONE! I LUV IT!

I'm coming from a Nexus S and a Galaxy S prior to that so Samsung was definitely my thing. I have had the One S for a couple of weeks now and I love it. It's super fast and the new Sense UI is great. Not too intrusive and keeps many ICS features front and centre.

There is one thing I don't understand about HTC's choice to keep hardware buttons instead of software buttons like the GN. For many apps, including this one, HTC has the menu button taking up the bottom part of the screen, which uses up screen real estate. It just doesn't make "sense" (unintended) to decide on hardware buttons and then have the menu button take up just as much space as software buttons. That's really my only pet-peeve with Sense 4.0. Otherwise, it's lightweight and speedy.

HTC has me worried the past year with some of their devices and their bloated Sense. They're back in my good books, now though. :)

Wow, precisely the upgrade I'm about to take. No complaints about the Sensation.
Hope I enjoy it as much as you.
Thanks.

I'm also coming from the moto triumph. The slow data and phone freezing/restarting problems was what did it for me. T-mobile's 2g is consistently faster than virgin's "3g" in my area.

Nice to see you again agent. I've dealt with you a few times. Great guide:)

Going to get called out as insane... but I have been using the One S as a daily driver and it's been a very decent device.

I was using a Galaxy Nexus (CDMA) and then an HTC Rezound.

This phone works.... unlike my Verizon counterparts I can make calls without the call being muted or dropped.

It's very fast too.
I think HTC has a winner here.
I am still keeping my Google Play Galaxy Nexus tho :)

Nexus S was my last phone, the HTC One S is super amazing and waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better then the Nexus imo .. took it out last night for fireworks, video and pictures turned out pretty good for night shots with a cell phone, very impressed.

Seems we are the only two Canadians here...which carrier are you using? I chose Bell because of their bundle offer.

Anyway, I gave my old iPhone 4 to my father and started my journey of android with HTC One S...quite amazing in terms of almost everything.
