Hello , I am newbie to the Android and have just a few question regarding the basic (must have) apps that are required for a healthy rooted phone . I am rooted already and have T Backup already installed along with the other ones that came with the one-click root . Any advice would be greatly appreciated . Thanks ! :)

LOL !!! 83 views and no replies ??? What's up people ? It's not like it's top secret or anything ! LOL ! Trust me , I've been reading in this forum for days and found some great info. on apps. and such . I just wanted to see what you people were using and the luck you've had with certain apps on the Prevail .

PS . Shabby and friends rule ! Thanks for the help w/ the root . I'm on my way to paypal so I can drop a few bucks in ya bucket .

I got a thread with a list of some cool apps in the link below. Also, if anyone else knows some good apps feel free to leave a replu with a market link to the app in my thread thanks!

Sorry for the lack of response. I guess the reason I have not responded is that it is such an open ended question. There are Thousands of apps to choose from for whatever your special interest happens to be. Give some specifics of how you would like to use your phone so we can narrow it down. There is an app for just about everything. Keep reading general Android app posts and browse through the Market using specific searches.

I'm new to the Android and would like to know what my device is capable of . I know it's not the best one out there but nothing wrong with making the most of what I've got . I will try and be more specific in future post . Thanks !

That's a nice thing to say. He is very helpful, nice to have people like him to keep a community going.

Side note on apps.... I like facebook, but that stinking app is bloated and takes up a lot of resources. I just deleted it and am using the browser to visit facebook. Anyone else Not put that app on their phone?

Not with Facebook but I did the same with yahoo. I downloaded the yahoo mail app and decided to just delete it and use the browser. I didn't see it that much more helpful than doing it the old school way. Besides whenever you turn off your background data with that app, they give constant reminders in your notification bar that "you need to enable background data in order for yahoo to retrieve your emails" yada yada blah!!!!!!! Much easier to just stay signed in on your browser and create a bookmark.

I agree on The FB app but I have not tried it recently. I also tend to prefer using the web page via Dolphin HD.

But...if I am going through a period of heavy FB use I love FriendCaster Pro. Their revision history is somewhat spotty though. Some versions were unusable and others excellent.

I recently installed the newest version and it has some useful improvements over just using the web page. Their next update may be buggy, so who knows. Lol.

I quit using the gmail app and set up my gmail and Yahoo accounts in the stock email app. Works great for me.

Never liked that Yahoo app either.

all i cared about right after root was titanium backup pro and root explorer to get rid of the crap and to then get more memory, and then it snow balled after that, and now i might be ready for AA (android anonymous)LOL!!!!!!!!!

I can identify, brother. I was obsessed for months with this stuff. Still love it but got to do other stuff too. Some folks can keep a healthy balance though.

LOL!! You guys are a trip. Leave it to Stan to dig up an old post of mine.:p

I would post the pic he sent via text last night but I would be banned 4 ever. Thanks for the laugh Bro.

I remember making this thread almost a year ago. Boy oh boy was I green back then. Our section and the Prevail has come a long way since those days.

Also, thanks for the kind words fellas. If the world were filled with people like you, it would be a much better place to live.;)

As for the Facebook app. I use version 1.5. It's by far the best version IMO.:D
