Dear Fellow users
Between this VS920 Spectrum and my Rezound. I do not get "I cannot hear you well complaint on the Rezound" as I do on the Spectrum.

Is there a fix? Is this a problem. I have web searched and people have dinged this phone for that problem. Please advise.

Rezound OTOH has plenty of its own problems :) But that's another thread.

2 spectrum family. Zero call problems either phone. When I first activated my phone I received a call from my SIL, after a few minutes I asked how the call quality was and she stated I sounded like I was right next to her. Speaker phone worked flawlessly too.
My wife called me later on and her call was very muffled/broken. I said to myself it better not be the phone. Turned out she called me from the basement of her job. The next call was crystal clear and she was walking around the grocery store.

Thankyou all, I am very encouraged. OTOH this might be a signal issue in my neighbourhood, I live in a solid 4 G area - so I really should not have this problem.
Thanks

i live in the woods, and only have 1-2 bars of signal most of the time (110-95db) on 3G, and I use my spectrum for my business, and only use speaker phone to do calls, and I have never had issues with call quality; other than when my signal has been so weak it's broke up a bit, but thats how all phones for all time have been. I have never had a dropped call.

3G and 4G should not matter though since phone calls don't use the internet.

I have heard numerous complaints from people I'm talking too, that they can't hear or understand me. I NEVER had this problem with any other phone. I don't think it has anything to do with signal strength, 3g, 4g, etc. It's the location of the mic, and maybe just a cheap mic on the phone. I've talked to my wife on the phone every day for years, and the last two months she has complained a lot about how hard it is to hear or understand me while using the spectrum. Never had this issue before. My answer is a resounding YES.

I have to push the phone against my cheek and I cup the Mic with the palm of my hand, then people say they can hear me good, if the phone moves away from my cheek they start to complain and occasionally will even ask of I am still there.

I gave up on blue tooth over a year ago after spending over $300 trying to find a headset that people did not complain about the sound quality. I may just have to switch back to sprint if they get their digital voice up in my area.

Have you considered getting it exchanged? Based on everybody else's experience it sounds like you have a faulty phone...

Moving to Spint will not do you any favors, trust me. As an ardent Sprint supporter (7 years)I swapped recently and EVERYTHING is better. Yeah they have an unlimited Data plan but you will need it with the incredibly slow dial-up like speeds.

Coverage is crap too. I live in the city but have trouble getting service@ my house. Sprints solution? We can give you a Wi-Fi antenna but you need to sign a new contract. At work I needed to go outside to make a call. Incoming calls usually didn't make it. Outside 2 bars on a clear day. Workmates on Verison are maxed signal. Me now? 4G inside baby. Sprint, hahaha, nothing.

Also nothing like getting texts or voicemail DAYS after. Craptastic customer service too. Oh, sure they can help you but you have to sign up for another 2 years? WTF? When I called to cancel the guy didn't try real hard to convince me to stay. He knew the deal, he had my years of complaints in front of him. All he said was, "It looks like we are done." Me: "Oh yeah! We're done."

No complaints here. My mother used to complain about how I sounded on my Droids, but not with the Spectrum. As for moving to Sprint, if you have a grandfathered VZ account like I do, that's shooting yourself in the foot. Sprint doesn't have the coverage or quality VZ does, so their 'unlimited' data crap is just a ploy to get ATT and VZ customers that are datahogs to their network. Because let's be frank, if you're not a datahog, where's the benefit to switch to Sprint? I've had VZ for 10 years and stick with them (even though some phones on other carriers are 'cooler') because I've never dropped a call and almost always have coverage... even when I'm camping in the mountains. My friends on other carriers always have to use my VZ phone when we're camping because they have no service.

it's obviously an issue with some phones but I think most do not have issues with this. Like I have stated in other places in the forum, my cousin and i both have spectrums (bought them at the same time) and we talk to each other all the time, and never have issues. Of course, being that I use my spectrum to take orders for my business, bad call quality would be unacceptable.

Big, you can get a new phone. Verizon doesn't care if you've already replaced it. it's not their warranty, it's LG's. They will give you as many phones as you need until you get a working one. Though the odds are slim, you must have got two defective phones. It does seem that bad call quality is pretty common with this phone, so prehaps you just got 2 bad ones.

I have experienced some call quality issues as well (actually it was my wife who was receiving my call), but it only seemed to consistently happen in specific locations. Like others have mentioned, she says it sounds very muffled, almost like underwater.

One thing that made a big difference was using speakerphone; when I switched to that she said the quality instantly improved and the muffled sound went away. Maybe it is the position of the microphone on the cheek?
