yea, dirty porting = taking a ROM compiled for another device n swapping files out to get it work on a device it wasnt compiled for and 97.8% of the time no credit giving to whom actually configured, compiled, and built said ROM.

motorola defy is an arm7 and has cm9

playfulgod pointed out exactly what is wrong with taht logic of "derp phoen is arm7 it must be the same!"

thats like saying because an amd and nvidia video cards both fit into a slot they use the same chips

overall dont sweat it so much, PG is working on cm7/cm9 for you guys. rumor has it he claims to know what he is doing . so that isnt your last chance but it sure is your best chance for ics. things take time especially with new os' that are MASSIVELY different than the previous.

Being an insider, I can tell you metropcs is actually working with LG to get the ics update on the Connect, since it will be the new flag ship device.. due to the esteem being EOL.

Now, if LG will do it, that's a different story. Metropcs has sent in the request and has made its offer. Up to LG now.

Eitherway. If LG doesn't come through. I know PG and I know he knows what he's doing. If he has something in the works, it will take time. But with time comes great gifts. Just make sure to give the devs some cash, to have a beer, to reap his/her/their accomplishments.

If I hear any further info at the lg ics update I'll post it.
