Galaxy note on straight talk

I am going to use the note on straight talk but have a few questions for current note users on the network already.....

Do I need to get a unlocked note? If I do which card from straight talk do I get? The unlocked card or the att card

Look at how many posts are even in the straight talk form. Not many people look at this. The forum was only made a few weeks ago.

On an answering note.(pun intended) Either will work. You can get an ATT note and an ATT card or an unlocked note and an unlocked card. Don't take my word for this, but I've been researching heavily into straight talk and that's what they advertise. Worst comes to worst, you should be able to return your note within 30 days as long as you don't do anything to it.

I'm still using a Triumph on Virgin Mobile, so I really don't have any experience. Just research.

If you choose the unlocked card, it will supposedly get you the card with the best coverage in your zip (art or T-Mobile). I would just get the att card since the note was meant for it.

It might actually get better service through a t-mobile card. As far as I know, straight talk does not use ATT's LTE but does take advantage of HSPA+ that both networks have, however, T-Mobile has a much better HSPA+ network. So, if you got an unlocked note, and T-mobile has good coverage in your area, I would personally go with T-mo over ATT sim.

Doesn't look like it from the coverage map that's on their website. They may have roaming agreements with att and tmobile but that's it.

Great coverage for iphone and blackberry users though.

Lol, I'm just going to laugh... Do you not know how signals work? You think android has different signals?

That "android map" is for the one crappy android phone they sell as a "straight talk android phone", it doesn't apply to GSM phones you buy a SIM for. And that phone uses sprint's network. Idk don't ask me why.

TracFone's Straight Talk Android phones will use Sprint's network - FierceWireless

But if you get an unlocked GSM phone, it is literally impossible to use sprint's crappy coverage (Yes I am thankful for my virgin mobile phone, but will switch as soon as I have the money) so you actually use att and t-mo's network. Yes. Straight talk has a MVNO service through everyone except verizon.lol

Ok to clear this up, you are viewing the coverage maps for Straighttalk specific phones ONLY. The Straighttalk Sim services uses all of Att and T-Mobile's coverage. If you want clarification from ST, go to straighttalksim.com

What you said is correct, except ST does have a MVNO agreement with Verizon. The Samsung R355 or something uses Verizon coverage but you cannot use it with the sim card. It has to be with a phone that ST has. My mom's ST phone works off Verizon.

Wow. I guess they don't discriminate.haha I'm surprised though, I've never heard of any mvno that uses verizon coverage. I always assumed that was just because verizon wanted to hoard their spectrum to themselves

Well actually Page Plus uses verizon as well. I think that's all that there is.

I was coming from virgin Mobile and had to port my existing number.. The process took about 30 min and now I am up and running on att "4g" network... My speeds are 3x faster than what I had, and the phone is ridiculous. I had zero problems and didn't have to speak with anyone.. Simple as 1 2 3

so what are your speeds exactly? im thinking about buying a note on straight talk myself but i dont want to downgrade from what i have on metropcs as far as 4G speed.

This was a quick test 5mb dl isn't bad still 3x faster than virgin Mobile sprint towers
.. I have tested before and received faster dl but like I said this was a quick test.. Not even sure where the towers are... But I was on the bay yesterday and had full "4g" signal.. Virgin Mobile was afraid of water.. I would lose signal within a mile of any water.... Super happy with this phone and service so far

Fast forward to the first week of July 2012 and I did the same thing except I live in Hampton Roads, Virginia. My Galaxy Note is amazing on Straight Talk. I love the built-in data monitoring feature.
