Caller ID and Google Voice

You and spoof for texts, but not calls...yet. Goto https://www.google.com/voice and goto settings. Under the Calls tab there is this option:

Caller ID (outgoing)

When I text a Google Voice number from one of my forwarding phones:
Don't change anything
Display my Google Voice number
Note: this setting currently only applies to text messages; calls will be included soon.

Soon for Google can mean any length of time. Number porting to Google Voice has said soon for nearly 2 years and while it's available for mobile numbers, you can't port landlines yet.

I would like to change/spoof my mobile number to my Google Voice number...is this possible?

I have tried a couple spoofing apps, but all seem to be manual. I would like to do something that permanently changes the outbound Callas ID number...any thoughts?

There is a setting in the Google Voice app that you can set to make all calls using your Google Voice number. Then you can just make all of your calls as normal from your phone and your outgoing caller ID will always be your Google Voice number

Yeah, true, though it relies solely on Google Voice and the app, and I'm not sure if that is a god idea; thought there might have been a way to change the number via rooting.

Why do you think it's not a good idea?
I use GV straight up and also use Google Voice Callback (great app) and have no trouble with either. GV has had only a few outages and they weren't long-lived, that was quite a long while ago anyway. It has been rock solid for a long time.

I'm using HTC Thunderbolt 2 and have my GV settings to make all calls with GV, but the outbound caller id still shows my verizon phone number not my GV number.
