I installed this little cracker last night.
If you like blinged up snazzy ROMs then this one is not for you!
This one is a pure stock based ROM. It is of course deodexed, so it gives you much more flexibility for tweaking. There are tweaks you can choose to install after flashing such as 15 toggles, ICS lockscreen, extended power menu, full screen caller id etc.

If you prefer the stock look (and I must admit I do) then I feel this one is for you.

Its a very classy, slick and polished ROM, as you would expect from a "stock" ROM. What's more, the developer (Sale) seems to know is stuff, and unlike a number of other "devs" is very helpful and listens to comments and suggestions.

The ROM comes in 2 flavours, namely Full and Lite.
Full is the full stock ROM with nothing added, nothing taken away.
Lite has a few of Sale's tweaks (in build.prop and init.d primarily) and has the following applications removed:

Removed apps (XXLSJ):
AllshareMediaServer
AllSharePlay
AllshareService
AnalogClockSimple
AnalogClockUnique

Neat ROM

Why, oh why, oh why, do I listen to Hawker! :listen:

He pushed me into installing the NEAT ROM yesterday. He told me that as I liked a lot of the stock features of LPD, that I would like this ROM.

He told me that it was lean, mean and keen.

He told me that it was what I was looking for... it had good, clear, graphics. It wasn't overly fussy. The list goes on...

So, at Hawker's insistence, I did a Full Wipe from VK ROM and installed NEAT. I then went through the process of re-installing everything from scratch and sat back and looked at NEAT.

It was at that moment that I realised that, to all intents and purposes... I'd just bl**dy well installed the stock LPD ROM!!! :banghead:

It was identical in every way. I then set about installing several of the mod's that come with the ROM, such as, the 15 toggle notification bar, green circle battery, CRT effect, lock screen, etc:

At the end of it, I had a modded LPD, stock ROM.

I could have saved myself a lot of time and trouble, if I'd just flashed those mod's to my existing stock LPD ROM. :argh:

So, that's what I did. I re-installed my stock LPD ROM and flashed the same mod's to it. No problem.

So, in short, if you have the LPD, stock, ROM already... just flash the mod's from this ROM.

Will I never learn? :stupido2:

Give Dragon 2.7 (AOKP Build 37) a try. I installed it last night and find it to be a very sexy looking ROM. The Aroma installer allows you to pick and choose what you want to install. Comes with S Voice, S3 live wallpaper and many other cool apps. You can opt out of installing the things you don't want. BTW, it is a big download but worth it to me!

the aroma installer is lush, first saw it on d4 rom (i think), would be nice if checkrom used summat like this on their next release.

i had installed a previous version of dragon (and tried the new 2.7), doesn't appear to add anything that other AOKP roms are giving, apart from a folder full of "bolt ons". its basically a clone of resurrection/d4, but still a decent rom non the less. the last version of hydrogen had some nice new tweaks, and a new vers was imminent, but its support is sadly discontinued.

only other AOKP rom which gives summat different is paranoidandroid, which is d4 with tabletUI and on the fly DPI changing. its a nifty concept, and i got it to work pretty well, but changing DPI is about as good a fart in a spacesuit for me (stock 240 or bust), as my lamps aren't what they used to be (see my avatar for proof) ;)

OK... in spite of my earlier post, I flashed this version + mod's very quickly last night before going out.

As I mentioned, it is basically the deodexed version of the stock mod. In this case, the very latest, to-date, LPF.

Since Samsung do not deign to release changelogs it is difficult to see any major changes over and above LPD.

I took photos and videos last night and they seem fine... very good in fact.

No freezes or FC's. Is very fluid using it in conjunction with Siyah 3.2.6. The included modem, LPX, is as good as LPS and LPW.

Hard for me to say on battery life as I gave it a good thrashing last night, even flashing the LPF ROM and mod's on battery.

The 15 toggle, configurable, scrollable Notification bar toggle looks good and works well.

Other mod's are CRT, (Cathode Ray Tube), opening and closing screen effect that will be familiar to CheckROM users. The No increasing ring tone. SMS/MMS removed from call log mod. ICS lockscreen mod. Large caller image for calls. There's also a spell checker mod wot I 'aven't tryd yet.

Firmware: I9100XWLPF (4.0.3) - 2.1

Firmware: I9100XXLPW (4.0.3) - 2.2

Can someone tell me which of these has the better battery life. I'm hearing arguments for both sides. ROM looks good, nice and simple, might give it a go!

I doubt if anyone's had both those ROM's on there phone long enough to be able to give you an answer. I only had LPF on Saturday and LPW was out yesterday I believe. LPF is nearly three weeks newer than LPW... if that helps! :hmmmm2:

Having a problem with cwm. My install "zip from internal sd card" option is missing! Result is the same if I reboot the phone into cwm or use the app itself. Trying to install the 15 toggles and a battery style...
baseband: lpx
kernal: siyah 3.2.6
build: lpf
If anyone can help I'll be very grateful!

EDIT: I JUST DISCOVERED THE INTERNAL SD OPTION IS IN THE "INSTALL ZIP FROM SD CARD". Feel silly now

Yup its pretty much a 100% stock ROM.
The benefit is the dev is very helpful and informative, so give you a little more scope for tweaking. Most mods should also work on an odexed stock ROM, but no doubt some will not.
If you like stock ROMs (and a surprising number of people do) this ROM just gives you a little more flexibility
