Questions about Hero Rom

I just installed fatal1ty's hero rom version 1.4 last night on my rogers magic(a version modified for 32a) and I have a couple questions about the different apps. First of all, is there any way to make it show only contacts with phone numbers? Every time I send a message with gmail, that email is automatically added to my contacts but I don't really want to see it there when I'm looking for phone contacts. It makes my list very long. I know I can do this with apps like aContacts but I want to use the HTC contacts app if possible. Second, I was playing some music and then my lock screen wallpaper suddenly decided to change to the album art. I assumed that it was supposed to do this but then after I stopped playing the music it stayed. I then changed the lock screen wallpaper but it did no good. Any ideas? Perhaps this is just a flaw with the rom. I don't know.

Edit: I don't know how I could have been stupid enough not to try a hard reset. anyway, it works now. must have just been something weird.

Finally, how do I add words to my dictionary. The keyboard seems identical to the one that I had as a stock rogers magic except the "add word" button has disappeared. I'm fairly sure I have other questions but now I can't seem to remember them. I will add them later.

Edit: one more thing. if I check my email with the widget and then go into the app, the notification still doesn't go away but if I were to do the same thing for a text message, the notification would go away. is there any way to change this? I highly doubt it but.. it's worth a shot.

I can't seem to get market enable to work. It says "doing stuff - root stuff" but then it just sits there.. forever. I read somewhere that you need the superuse whitelist. I tried to download this from the market a few times but every time it say that the install failed. can I not do it with this rom? I know this isn't hero specific but why make two threads?

For those of you who are thinking of installing this rom, I will list what I have found that doesn't work. The camera app only works in landscape. For some reason, when you hold the phone in portrait, the accelerometer kicks in and screw things up. oh well. Also, when you try to search your programs, the keyboard comes up for a sec but then it disappears and voice search comes up. It's a bit annoying but it's not like you're losing a standard feature. You're just not gaining a feature that you should be. Otherwise, everything seems to work. Bluetooth, wifi, multi-touch, flash, and all the apps/widgets. Everything seems fine. I haven't really noticed lag either. In some cases it does lag a bit but overall it's really not too bad. I'm also told that the lag will get better after using it a bit as it will cache some things. For Rogers/32a magic ONLY! Also, there may be some other problems that I have not noticed yet. I don't think there's anything but I haven't tried absolutely everything.

First you might consider the number of People Expierenced With this very specific Hero ROM is going to be very small ...

So you might ask the question of the ROM's author ... I dont know what foum that might be ... but it is not here on AF possibly on XDA...

Yes, I realize this but that's kind of irrelevant. I appreciate that you took the time to reply but I wish you would actually read my post. My questions are not specific to the rom. They apply to everyone who has a hero and anyone who is running a hero rom, no matter the version.

What is not irrelevant is you may not have thought about, is that every build has made changes to the core and made additions that interact with the rest of the build ... no two builds can be expected to be compared with one another ... if you have seen the large number of build and mods out there .. you should understand this ...

So asking a question of how X is working in ROM-A ... can/may not have any relation to what X is doing in ROM-B ...

I read your post and responded to it ... something no one else has done ...
And I and possibly others have read the post and considered the same thing ...

I have had many builds on my phone ... and would ask the people I know that are running that build if they are having "so and so happening ?" ... This is what we can consider relavent... comparing oranges to oranges ...

I read your last answer as asking anyone to make responses to your questions about performance/working aspects of a build regardless of their own build version... But it is your post ... so have at it ...

I support that's fair enough for the most part but I'm not asking about performance. I'm asking about how the different apps work. I don't see how this would be different. I asked about the the contacts and mail apps and the keyboard. Should these not be the same in every hero rom?

The only time I mentioned performance is when I was telling people how I felt about the rom. I was not asking about it.

I use the jachero rom on my magic but as far as the contacts go( i used to use aContacts too) on the hero rom i just added the People widget and add my phone contacts to that list

Yeah, I suppose that would work just fine. Not exactly ideal but it's better. Thanks for the input.
