Root [ROOT][CWMTOUCH] All in One Script with CWM Touch Recovery

This is just a small and simple All in One script that I wrote to Root the LG Connect 4G, install ClockWorkMod Touch Recovery and unroot options. It does not include a debloating script as markolo25's AIO includes; I feel it is best to allow you guys to remove what apps you want, some people actually like a few of the stock apps so I am leaving that up to you.

ClockWorkMod Touch is the Touch version of CWM Recovery for those few of you that may not be familiar.

This All in one includes options for:

Rooting and installing ClockWorkMod TOUCH.
Root Only
CWM TOUCH Only
and Unrooting.

It only works for the LG Connect 4G.

Koush offers the Touch version of CWM Recovery free from his website, only thing is you have install it manually through fastboot. Rather than going through that hassle you can just use this script and choose one option and it's done.

If you are already Rooted and have the regular CWM recovery installed on your Connect, you can still use this script to install CWM Touch. Just run the script and choose option 3.

This has all been tested multiple times, and the script is bug free, so there should be zero issues, but if you have any questions feel free to ask.

As always, I am not responsible for anything that may or may not happen to your device; you do this with the sole risk and responsibility being on your own head. However, chances of anything going wrong are small to non-existent.

If you have any questions feel free to fire away.

PlayfulGod: Major help with CWM recovery , fixed looping issue.

Throughout the next few days I will be adding more options to the script, such as build.prop tweaks, and a couple other goodies some of you may be interested in. I am thinking about adding the original CWM Recovery to the script for those that try CWM Touch and don't like it (Seriously doubt any of you won't like it, it's pure sweetness.)

Also, if Shabbypenguin manages to get TWRP Recovery up and running for our device I will also be adding that to the script.

So I got bored and decided to root my phone for the first time. I downloaded and installed k0nane's lg spectrum usb drivers. Plugged in my phone set to internet connection and usb debugging mode and ran this script picking number 1.

"The system cannot find the path specified"

I tried the other aio script from this forum and chose number 3 I believe it was and got the same error.

What am I missing?

Edit : I'm on stock zva and my laptop is an old c2d windows 7 ultimate if that helps.

Yes thank you. I'm totally new to all this not really sure what cwm even does yet. But I'm sure its "pure sweetness" lol. Im going to install broken out now is there any advice you can give before i do so? What is wipe data in step four is that factory reset?

Well if you are installing broken out rom you will learn soon enough what cwm is lol. Clockworkmod is a custom recovery that allows you to make full backups of your entire phone, so if you mess anything you can restore your phone.

It is also what you use to install custom ROMs, such as broken out rom. Cwm touch is the newest version of clockworkmod recovery. It makes it easier to use because you can navigate the menu by using touch, rather than scrolling through the options with the volume rocker.

Wipe data is not a factory reset no. Its an option in cwm to clear everything off your phone before you install a new rom, in your case broken out. It is to ensure there are no conflicts after the new rom installation and is necessary.

Best advice I can give you before you flash broken out rom is to boot into cwm and make a backup up the stock rom in case something goes wrong.

Boot into cwm by downloading quickboot from Google play and choosing recovery from the reboot options in the app. Or by downloading rom manager and rebooting into recovery from there. Once you are in cwm you will know it. There's no mistaking it lol. Good luck!

Sorry, but do you use terminal for this or PC?

It is a batch script you run from a PC. Download it, unzip the files, double click the script. (It has an icon with gears) make sure you install the LG drivers first. It won't work unless you do. Also, after you have plugged your connect into a USB port, put it into internet connection mode. You can do this from the notification pull down tab on your phone.

Yeah lol CWM Recovery can be misleading. You have to go through stock recovery in order to access CWM when uaing hardware keys to get to it. A lot of people, myself included, thought they could not get to CWM recovery because it woild take them to stock recovery instead. I, one day, got brave enough to go through stock recovery and instead of doing what it said it would do, it instead brought me to CWM. :) So yeah, its misleading.

I already used this to get my phone rooted and the SuperUser app in my phone. When I open the SuperUser app, it does not detect all the bloatware apps installed on my phone. What should I do to uninstall all the bloatware?
Thanks in advance to y'all for your help.

I wouldn't suggest doing it all by hand yourself, as there's always a risk of "whoops" moments.
BUT, in light of that, I welcome you to check out this thread for either on of multiple reasons.

Stock ROM Release Thread

It's a release thread that will (eventually) contain a list of all the stock ROM revisions as well as all the stock apps that are removed in the "stripped" version that I create for you all.

There are multiples of the ROMs listed there. From Stock- Unrooted, to Stock - Rooted, to Stock - Rooted - De-bloated, and Stock - Rooted - Stripped.

Please feel free to check out the stripped section, near the bottom, as that's what you're attempting to do. There's info there about what issues you may have, what may be necessary for other apps to run, etc.
Really handy information, and I may save you the trouble of hassling yourself with individual un-installations.

However, if you're the "DIY" kind of guy the App that I used to do the un-installations is SystemApp Remover Pro.
One thing I will tell you is this: When uninstalling something you're unsure about take extreme caution. In that thread I tell you every single app that's safe to remove aside from the alarm clock, and calendar. I literally stripped everything I could from the ROM; and when doing it, I did have errors, but once I rebooted it all worked fine.
There's more info in that section about what errors I incurred.

Good Luck in whatever you choose to do, and let me know if you need more help.
