Help Tablet chugs... (lag)

Anyone else have this?

Model Number GT-P7500R
Android V3.2
Kernel 2.6.36.3

The device has been laggy since I got it a few months ago through rogers wireless. Even swipping the screen to another tab is laggy and not at all smooth. On occasion it will run smooth as butter, but not for long. Is there something wrong with my device or is it a laggy tablet to begin with?

No I don't find mine very laggy at all.

Does this only happen when connected to Rogers Wireless?

I'm wondering if you may have an app running in the background?
I would do a full factory reset and play with it a bit before re-installing any of your apps.
If it's still laggy before you've reinstalled any apps, I'd be taking it back to where you bought it and let them check it out

I haven't had it connected to Rogers at all, I got it from them for free (technically) because they screwed my account up, I had to take it on a $5/month plan so I never put the SIM card in it.

The tablet plays some apps fine, it's mainly the home screen that lags like a monster and sometimes it takes a few swipes to even change the home screen I'm on. And I recently installed Dungeon defenders on it, It's unplayable laggy even on the lowest graphics settings.

This is just a shot in the dark - is there any chance there is some app or funtionality related to Rogers Wireless that is trying to run but can't because there's no SIM card? That could be using up a lot of resources. There apps that will show you what's using the most resources.
I also have the lag issue from time to time and my tablet is a sim card one (Vodafone) that doesn't have a sim card connected, I know it searches for networks but how do I remove this functionality or at least put it to bed semi-permanantley so as to hopefully speed up my tablet a little? Any help much appreciated.

I have a WiFi model. It's not the same model as yours, but I do have some lag issues with mine.
Mainly the home screen. I notice the most lag when I go from portrait to landscape mode while viewing the home screen.
All of the app icons and widgets will dissapear, then reappear a few seconds later.
The same would apply when leaving an app, and going back to the homescreen.
I noticed the lag after installing quite a few apps and widgets.
I'd hate to get ride of my apps and widgets, so I just deal with it.
I've heard that the Ice Cream Sandwich update runs pretty fast on Android devices.
I'm hoping the my Tab will get it, and I'm hoping it will address that issue for me.

Put it in airplane and the re-enable Wifi. Quick Settings will let you do this. This will keep the battery from draining too quickly, but it won
