Discuss all Moto Droid Razr/Maxx HD rumors/release date/speculation/news

Rezound had been the opposite for me....

2 Rezounds...2 sim cards...and both get stuck in 1x in weak areas. My RAZR has been the more reliable for phone and data reception.

Thats the way it goes sometimes. 2 different ppl have the opposite experiences with the same phones...lol.

I believe their point was that when non-technical folks buy, many get advice from technical folks and/or tech blogs. The technical folks and blogs will give a more favorable opinion of a device with an unlocked bootloader and will be more likely to recommend it. Therefore, even the sales to the non-technical folks can be increased by including an unlocked bootloader.

I think thats the problem. Cuz a technical person should know we all dont have the same needs for devices. I still run XP as my main OS. I had Win 7 since it launched, Vista when it launched too. I have yet to install Win 7. I run XP and Vista in a dual boot setup. I would say its more unlocked bootloader fans that recommend a phone with an unlocked bootloader than technical people.

In my immediate family I'm the techy guy. It took a total of 1 week to put ROMs on my Droid 1. Thats because my kids mother was using it before I could do it. I like how hackable the Wii is. I dont do it with the 360 anymore and never tried it with the PS3. Family comes to me and a few others in the family for computer advice.

My kids mother has so many issues with Sprint and her Nexus S, phone and data reception. Her iPhone 4 did better for reception. In her case...and based on mine and hers experience with my RAZR and Rezound.....she wants a Moto phone. She also used my Droid X1 for awhile too. She keeps dismissing the update for ICS. She tried it...and dont like it. I ask her from time to time...but I NEVER try to force her to update it. My daughter likes ICS tho.

I understand we all dont have the same wants n needs. And I NEVER try to force my wants n needs on others. I will give my opinion about my wants n needs...but for the most part thats about it. Thats also why I didnt try to talk her outta the iPhone. Knowing how the insurance for it is....we both dont one one or the iPad now. Hers got stolen...

Never mind. Bogus link. Deleted.

It probably will be a world phone thou. Not sure if that spec is out there. That goes in line with Verizon's recent update announcement.

Featured: Motorola Bringing Vanquish as International Droid RAZR HD, Asanti with LTE to AT&T and More to Market | Android Headlines

Found this. It seems to confirm the model number, XT926, atleast. And that it will be hitting this summer; with Vanquish as the official sale name, I can't tell.

A lot of hardware showing up. Maybe being in the situation with the Google acquisition has caused delays and phone releases to be pushed into others. Or Motorola just wants to suffocate the market to make up for lost time.

Either way, i'm feeling a little better now.

I ordered a replacement battery on Amazon for 4 dollars for my Droid X to hold me off until the Fighter comes out. The manufacturing date of the batter is from 2010, I don't know if this battery will be much improvement from my current battery. -__-

The date of manufacture could have something to do with the battery, but the number of charging cycles would be most telling. I'm sure if the original battery in your "X" was from 2010, then the new battery from Amazon will work fine. Litium-ion batteries are good for approximately 500 charging cycles and your original battery probably passed that mark months ago.

Just FYI, go here to learn about everything you want to know about phone batteries.

Basic to Advanced Battery Information from Battery University

Good luck to you,

I'd bet a lot closer to 8/21 than 6/21. Anyone else who knows Verizon would too'
Well, I guess I eat crow on that one.

I've had a Samsung Behold, Vibrant, Galaxy S 4G and all are terrible devices. I also have suffered through Samsungs lack of updates (Vibrant and DX released at the same time and DX probably had twice the updates - and GB, which Vibrant never even sniffed).

I really wanted the Fighter HD, but I'm over 2 years on my DX now and am not waiting any longer. This could easily slip to August.

I am pre-ordering the Galaxy S III.

I NEED a good radio - my ThunderBolt doesn't do squat @ work - I'm probably going to take my chances and hold out for the Fighter.

Not only that, but Verizon will start pre-orders on the 6th and it will only be $200 for 16GB or $250 for 32GB! I'm seriously thinking of going to the SGS3, but I need to hear about how the radios are. Bad radios are a no-go.

+1... Seems like Samsung's Achilles heal on VZ. Hopefully they figure it out...

OT, but how have you had your DX for over 2 years when it wasn't released until July of 2010?

It hasn't been two years yet! It was released July 15th 2010. You've been over on upgrade eligibility for a month or two maybe. This is assuming that you bought it on release day (didn't we all?). I'm in the same boat as you, and it feels like at least two years.

I may be jumping on this (SGIII) phone as well. The promise of a huge battery and on-screen keys is nice, but the SGIII is here and before the tiered data plans I think too. Plus this phone will be popular, which means accessories and better community/developer support. I'm scare to pre-order, I'd like to see and hold one first since its design and materials are suspect.

Your move Moto.

MOTOROLA needs to announce something on this phone before the Galaxy SIII pre-orders start. I am tempted to hop on the SIII. Im tired of waiting just for rumors. Im sure there are many people that are in the same boat as I am. Motorola will miss out on our purchase by purely "coming too late". SIII preorder comes, pre order taken, see ya Motorola... Im an impatient person.
