BIG difference between Motorola and Samsung devices. Which device comes out first shouldn't be the tipping point IMO. No way I jump on another Samsung without a great deal of feedback from early adopters.

+100

A phone needs to be a phone, first and foremost, in my like of work. I (and egomaniacal clients) will not put up with one-way audio, dropped calls, lousy data connection, all of which plague Sammy's devices. Not to mention a tendency to a "plastic" build quality. Moto has at least locked down the radios and solid build (as well as the boot loader) ;)

So I will live with my DX (which has rarely dropped a call) until a "real" phone comes to market, which will hopefully have the bells and whistles that other so-called flagship phones have.

+1 from me too.

Samsung has proven they can get it somewhat right....I dont remember the GS2 having alot of phone related issues. Need to hit up Sprint forums. For some reason GSM devices just seem to not have many phone related problems.

And Moto cant hit a home run all the time....the Bionic is an example. I do know there are ppl that have no issues...but most that switched to another phone absolutely hate it.

But I agree 100%. In my phone history...that dates back to before Android even came out....Moto has been good to me. Samsung...not so much. But I still gave the G Nex a shot...Our experiences dictate whether we trust or dont trust a manufacture. I often find it odd that ppl complain about Moto phones and phone related issues. It happens tho..lol.

And I might pre order the GS3...lol. Hey...I got 14 days...I might be a guinea pig for yall....

I also am going to jump ship and pre-order the S3 tomorrow. Motorola screwed up big time not announcing the Razr HD before the S3 imo.
I keep saying the same thing but I think the release of Galaxy S III versions by other carriers, the delays in resolving the customs issues resulting from the ITC exclusion order against HTC, the pending ITC exclusion order against MMI combined with the Motorola-Google merger and the seemingly associated focus on the China market all may have left little option other than the Galaxy S III being the next VZW release and happening soon.

Purely speculation but I'm guessing that the Incredible 4G and Droid Fighter/Razr HD release may now be tied to supporting the shared data plan implementation and/or the iphone 5 release.

I am so ready to jump, then the voice of reason spoke up. I seriously do not like Samsung, but sooooo much want to upgrade and keep unlimited data......

So some disheartening news - my wife just upgraded to an iPhone (had unlimited data) and verizon stripped the unlimited data based on the May 18th announcement...I'm on the phone fighting customer service right now about it.

THAT SUCKS! First I've heard of this happening. It's gotta get worked out. If not, and others follow suit, I wouldn't want to be a VZW CSR!

I also had the black spots on my X, so I went for a Maxx. I have three days left to return the Maxx, so here's my question: I fully intend to get the HD when it comes out. Do I hold the Maxx and sell it in the after market or do I trade the Maxx for an SIII and sell that in the after market? Which will command a higher price?

Just a guess, but as soon as the HD hits the market, VZW will start GIVING away the Maxx for a penny to new contracts, $49 for upgrades. So I THINK the Maxx will be next to worthless at that time. IMO.
