Is Cricket still selling the Mercury?

I have no problems with my phone, but I stopped by a cricket store to ask question.(It's next door to starbucks)

I saw a Mercury on display, but there was no writing or price. I asked the manager and he confirmed that they are not selling right now. The best answer he could give me was something about a software issue.

He said he had some on stock, but was not selling them. Said that what Higher managment has been telling him didn't make any sense. He says he didn't think it had to do with the Muve update, however he just didn't seem too know much about it. It felt to me like he was hiding something from me, the way he was speaking and looking at me.

He immediatley went into a sale pitch telling me how the I-phone 4s is coming soon, blah blah etc.

im not sure that this is a software issue being the reason they pulled the phone. im now on my 2nd mercury the 1st one just went dead. I have seen several other people on the forums say the same. So if you figure there is far less then 1% of mercury users on these forums . its likely there could be a hardware issue with these phones.
just a guess but i do hope its something they address very quickly. I KNOW i searched the net everywhere with no word from cricket .

Again, rumor mill spinning...Some folks "think" Huawei/Cricket will be releasing a new Mercury, w/ICS, LTE on it.

I read a cnet article saying cricket is about to make leaps and bounds in the wireless world with 10 new devices by october ranging from low to high end 4in touch screens or larger faster processors and two of these phones will be 4g lte. My honest opinion the mercury and cricket service isn't all that great right now anyways but if I get lte speed then I'm sticking with them even though the evo on boost or virgin is tempting even though its wimax not lte

Still hoping that Cricket will get the Ascend P1 whenever Huawei releases it in the US market.

Oh, they are definitely getting the iPhone, it's been announced all over. I just hope they are not betting the farm on it. Personally, I wouldn't mind getting another Huawei if that's the best Android they get, but I'd kind of like to see them get something different. The Galaxy Nexus is $400 on Google Play, and that's already cheaper than the iPhone, so why couldn't they get something high end? (I realize that's the unlocked GSM version, i'm just saying). I don't want a crappy ZTE, that's for sure, though. I'd rather stick with Huawei than that.

True... NOT an Iphone Fanboy though. I was an HTC heavy user when I was with Sprint but have grown to like Huawei (hated the Ascend 1,rooted the Ascend 2 and it grew on me, really digging the Merc) That being said, I like what Huawei is doing with the P1S. Hopefully they release it to Cricket as well as the Galaxy line of android phones.
