A quick question here. Does anyone know how the e-mail works on the Android OS? I have a BB Storm 2 and I get my e-mail super quick because of the push system. I have read that the Androids have some issues with Yahoo mail. I have a free account and I also have a paid account. I have a Gmail account also but rarely use it. My paid Yahoo account is for my work and is the most important for me to recieve. I want the Incredible badly but I hope the e-mail system is adequete.

On my htc eris, gmail is pretty much instant. I also have my yahoo mail set up on the phone, and for it, there is a setting to choose how frequent email is checked. The choices range from every 5 minutes to once per day. There is also the choice of manual check.

^^^ shush Arnold, we're workin' on it :D

On a side note, P A is saying VZW is launching a low budge LG txt phone on the 25th... Maybe VZW is gearing up to realease a couple of phones (besides the Incredible)?

EDIT: I'll be pissed if VZW advertises some same LG txt phone during march madness and no Incredible!

  • The 3/18 OTA software update will not happen as planned. A new date will be communicated as soon as possible."
An impromptu support group meeting has been scheduled for 1:30PM ET, though we're hearing the location is still being decided...

I went into our local VZW store this morning and spoke with the regional manager - he answered a lot of my questions. To sum this up, the N1 will be an online order only, and the HTC Incredible will be the in-store seller. He hinted to me that both would be released at/around the same time. He told me the release date was NOT the 23 or 24th for either device, but to look into early April (possible the 1st or 2nd from what I've seen other places). I forgot to ask him if the N1 would be subsidized or not, but he told me he has personally used both devices and would highly recommend the HTC Incredible over the Google Nexus One.

I did not ask about any specific specs. He also did not call i the Incredible, he just called it the "HTC device", I'm really curious to if they keep the name or not.

He also informed me of a few other things... apparently the Incredible will be the first Android phone to offer App installation to the storage card! (this was news to me, don't know if anyone else has heard that or not). He then proceeded to tell me about a WM7 he was able to try out (and was an HTC device with similar specs to the Imagio! Instead of the LG device seen online usually) and said that he loved it.

This if a bit off topic, but figure I'd throw this tid-bit in as well - he also told me about a new BlackBerry device coming out soon (if you've seen the leaked image, it is the supposed slider-style BB). And get this - it's a Google/BlackBerry joint venture! It runs a hybrid of BB OS and Android! He told me he was very excited for it and that it was the best of both worlds. He also said that this device has the best accelerometer out at this time.

For some reason the chat link never pops up for me, is there any other way to do it?

Keep trying when checking a phone leave it for 10 Minutes if you have to, Just be patient and browse their selection but make sure to leave the page open for at least 5-10 mins before going to a new phone, Believe me a link will pop out.

I don't know any other way, this is the way I have always been successful.

Well this is Off topic but if it is same screen as the incredible then it is on topic. As stated in one of the posts that the brightness level could be the same on both but that only one had the autobrightness checked...Who knows

yeah, there is an icon on the att that looks like an owl with red eyes...tried to look at the manual but that icon isn't listed...like you said it's off topic unless the incredible uses the same screen. I'm not terribly concerned about it right now anyway. I will be waiting for some reviews on the incredible before i buy it anyway.

Interesting, thanks!

For those with experience with Seido, what kind of bump in battery capacity can we expect for the Incredible? The Incredible will ship with a 1300mAh battery which I'm sure most will find inadequate.

OK, did some research and the Eris also ships with a 1300mAh battery and Seido's extended life battery claims a 1750mAh rating. I'd be happy with that.

For some reason Seido still doesn't have an extended life battery out for the Moto Droid (other than the beasts that require a larger back plate).

A hybrid of BB OS and Android? I will believe that only when I see it. In fact, that makes me doubt your whole post.

In my post I guess, I was implying I did not know if it was the same screen. DeviceMag points to a Phandroid article, which points to a tweet from DevDroidian (whew), which states the Incredible, Nexus One, and Desire all use the same screen. Can anyone verify this? My search of this forum haven't turned up the answer yet.

So does this mean there is no "push" email for yahoo accounts but there is "push" for gmail? I have both accounts but yahoo is my primary. My concern with setting yahoo to "check every 5 minutes" is how much of a battery drain that is going to be.

something was said yesterday about a clear 3000 something. Sorry I don't remember, but I think it was an upgraded screen to the N1/Desire. I believe a tester of the Incredible said it did not have any issues. I hope that helps somewhat!

I wonder if the installing to the SD card was really the SD card, or the moviNAND storage. Stericson said the moviNAND storage was listed separately from the other onboard ROM, so maybe that's what happened. Good info though.
