This is my biggest problem with this phone. I've tried basic messenger and handcent.. they both love to make it look like a photo went through when it really didn't. I don't fully get what an oi manager is and why I need it. I can get them to work if i label, and make a slide show and some other things.. but Im not really sure what definitively works.

I just wanna attach a photo, with no words and have it go through, without it just looking like it did, but didn't. Is this possible?

My iphone girlfriend loves calling my phone the Andron't. Halp!

after some research.. I guess this is a common problem. Anyone on here have it? This is the fix on the Nexus forum for Tmobile.. but I dont understand how it owuld translate to my verizon eris. I dont see these settings:

I had the same problem and T Mobile Tech support fixed the issue. For some reason, T Mobile in my area (Las vegas) did not setup MMS protocols properly, during the phone activation. Go to settings; wireless & network settings; mobile network settings ; Access Point Names. Now click on T-Mobile US to open up another page and enter the following settings:
MMS port should say 8080. MCC should say 310. MNC should say 260. MMS proxy should say 216.155.165.50. And make sure under MMSC it says:

It is a problem coming FROM iPhone users as well. I have friend with the iphone and I never get his pics. I get the text part of the message but not the pic. I recently discovered that I can long press where the pic SHOULD be, and save it and it will show up in my album. It's a network issue between AT&T and Verzion. I have had numerous problems sending pics to people on the AT&T network. And the reverse being true as well. It's not precisely an Android problem.

yeah, my fiancee found out a week after we got our new phones that she couldn't send or receive pics from her best friend who hoas an I phone. It was snowing in Florida and her friend was tryong to send her some pics.

It's not android specific either. I had problems over Christmas when I was still using the Omnia. It is logical that it is a network problem between AT&T and VZW likely having something to do with the MMS protocols.

I sent pics to multiple people with different services and different phones. So far they all got it except this one girl. She has an iphone. My guy friend also has an iphone but he got the picture. The only difference between these two people are his is jail broken while she isn't.

I wish my friends would respond promptly when I send them a picture and the txt saying TEST!. Instead of responding at their convenience. Throws off my testing.

Hmm. See a I send to ATT dumb phones and blackberries just fine. Seems to be only iPhones which makes me think ATT does it on purpose. I'll have to see if his is jailbroke. Just reminds me of the old days when you could have Netscape running perfectly for years but install ie and it would start crashing. M$ still claims they never did anything like that :p

Hows it going, new to the Forum but have been reading them for a year now. LOL any ways here is my imput.

I have never had a problem with my Eris and textin a pic to someone. There again as soon as i got my phone from the VZW store i was reseting to factory cuz the agent at the store messed it up.... I work for Sprint Adv Tech support and deal with the Zero I mean Hero daily, and know what to expect from these phones. I imediatly reset cuz she added a generic google account and didnt set up the phone properly. But I digress, what you need to do is, and this worked for me on my Eris and works for the customers that I deal with on Sprint, download Handcent SMS (why couldnt that be the stock msngr???) and let it do its thing an set Handcent as default msnger. Hope this helps and Good luck

I have issue sending sometimes but my biggest complain is i can't download or receive pics without having to keep retrying LITERALLY TEN TIMES for the pic to come thru...

It's annoying as hell

My friend has a 3gs and i just tested this theory from reading the thread and she got my pic of the dog but when she sent a picture to me i keep getting the download button, i hit it and the button shows up again(and wi-fi is off)

MMS on the eris is my only complaint besides Lag

It has been my experience, and an experience I shared using the Omnia as well, that the MMS problems only occur for me when I am sharing pics with AT&T customers, primarily, though not exclusively with iPhone users. Which is why I still maintain it's a network issue, not a phone issue.

Bump.

I've updated to 2.1v2 and this issue still bugging the CRAP out of me. Just wondering / hoping there's a workaround out there since March.

I use Handcent as my default msg app and everyone EXCEPT my iphone friends get mms msgs from me.

Like others here post, sometimes I just want to send something to flaunt that their iphone isn't the end-all-be-all, but with ATT that seemingly BLOCKS a basic phone funtionality through their network... well...
